I’m not in the least bit surprised. Putin’s told more lies on this subject than Obama has on health care; they’re both huge liars. The difference is that most Americans see through Putin, and not enough of them see through Obama, which out to be 100%.
Weren’t the A-10s designed to go in full armor on the front, drop a tactical kiloton nuke into a few tanks, and maybe make it home?

Are you sure? Something about them being designed to destroy lots of heavy armor using nuclear weapons. I can’t remember where I read that.
Maybe someone thought of using them for that? I dunno.
The concept of a major tank battle along the Fulda Gap was a predominant element of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) war planning during the Cold War, and weapons such as nuclear tube and missile artillery, the nuclear recoilless gun/tactical launcher Davy Crockett, Special Atomic Demolition Munitions, the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, and A-10 ground attack aircraft were developed with such an eventuality in mind.
We should stay out of this. The Europeans, just like 18th century medicine said, need to be bled periodically. We keep intervening to save them from themselves. Let’s just let them sort it out on their own this time.

A10’s would probably be the terrorists worse nightmare. Any piece of mobile equipment would be cannon fodder.
What if the side that wants to wipe America off the face of the map wins? That’s reason enough.
Past due....equip Ukrainians with assets to take out Russian military assets on Russian side of border. Ukrainians can just deny it as Russians are denying their part in this war.
I don’t often buy the fight now or you will have to later at a greater cost line , but it is accurate for this war heading our way.
If the US defeats Putin for the [spineless] Europeans, ISIS will take over Europe. By the time we are done with Putin, we will not be able to deal with ISIS, or probably anyone else. I’d rather have to deal with the Russians being in charge of Europe, thank you. Putin can deal with ISIS just fine.
I fail to see how this benefits Obummer?
An A-10 is designed to fly low and slow to better utilize the 30mm rotary cannon on armoured vehicles. They would be a poor choice to launch a nuclear weapon and to the best of my knowledge aren’t equiped to carry one.
A-10 is capable but not designed to the purpose. Fast is best for delivering nukes.
The Air Force didn't even have money for jet fuel in 2013.
Twelve A-10s going over......think about that. In WW II, the discussed planes in the tens of thousands.
Obama cut the F-22, so that he could funnel more money to his Gibsmedats.
We are in real, real trouble if World War III erupts.
They were developed with the idea that they may one day be needed to use nuclear weapons. I’m sure existing A-10s would need significant modification to fulfill that idea.
That’s all I was referring to: that the A-10 was developed with that thought in mind. That’s all. I’m not saying that’s what they are best at now.

Per that response it specifically states tthe AH-64 and the A-10 would be for ground attack, which is what they were designed for. The nuclear options would utilize the other weapons platforms discribed in the exerpt.
An A-10 weapons platform was not designed to fulfill a nuclear role. Especially since there are weapons systems designed for that purpose.
Russians have no desire for peace! Why would anyone think they do? Even if the Ukraine offered complete independence for the two “DNR’s” this war would not end, because this is not about what they claim.
