As one who’s family income is largely from copyrighted works I’m all for this. When you get emails offering “free downloads” of your latest work — within hours of it being published, it’s kind of sickening. It is no different from walking into Target and slipping books and videos under your coat and walking off without paying. Shoplifters go to prison, so should copyright thieves.
What other monopolies would you like government to grant you and enforce at the point of a gun?
I agree with you. We live in an entitlement society where people expect everything free. It sickens me the way today’s kids think that everything should be given to them without working for it, or compensating the people who worked for it. Their music, their movies, their healthcare.
I agree. I have had my still photos and articles stolen and posted on other websites and even used in brochures without so much as a credit.
please tell me why as a taxpayer I should have to pay to protect your interests for 70 years after your death. There is nothing reasonable about that.
