Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber is expected to resign Friday, perhaps in the early afternoon, multiple sources told KOIN 6 News.
The decision came after intense debate among the governor and those close to him.
These sources say Kitzhaber has wanted to pursue that course since the weekend but had been dissuaded by his fiancée, Cylvia Hayes, and his legal team.

Just out of sheer morbid curiosity, has anyone seen any of this reported on the nightly news or the morning news programs? I mean complete with party ID?
Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber is expected to announce shortly that he will resign, according to multiple sources.
The date his resignation will take effect is uncertain.
Kitzhaber was meeting with his staff late morning to tell them his plans.

Interesting. Not a word in this articl as to WHY he is under pressure to resign.
It is a local TV station. Presumably, you have been hearing non-stop coverage for the past month, it you live in their broadcast area.
Wow. He is going to lose everything because of this....and my guess is he will never see her again.
Now, if this guy was a Repub. the story would be national news, 24*7 and Holder would get involved.

They only resign when their refusal to do so starts damaging the other commies. At that point, your comrades pull out the long knives and you become dinner.

No doubt about it. He and his girlfriend should both be prosecuted.
The LA Times put it in, although not until paragraph 6:
The state’s two top legislative leaders and the state treasurer -- all Democrats, as is the 67-year-old governor -- had called on Kitzhaber on Thursday to resign.
Yeah, as obscure as I had imagined, although I am surprised it was reported at all, however narrowly.
Obviously I am NOT any kind of expert on this, but from what I have read (and can recall off hand)....
He has been in office a long time and like everyone who has been in office that long, he had a few ethical challenges.
As a Dem, he apparently did not fully commit to team Obama on a couple things, including Obama-Care.
He was not 100% behind the unions including something to do with one of the local papers.
His attractive g/f had an agenda, different priorities and apparently had no qualms about using her...ah...position (?) to get what she wanted for whom ever was paying her.
Target rich, as they say. I almost feel sorry for the guy. Almost. Then I realize he has probably made a small fortune while in public office.
