Madison police officer Eric Parker today turned himself in to face assault charges, following the severe injuries to an Indian citizen who was walking down the street outside his son's new home.

Chief Larry Muncey told a small press conference in Madison that he also recommended that Parker be fired for his use of force against a man who committed no crime, did not speak English and could not understand the commands.

The weird thing about it is that the Indian guy wasn't moving or doing anything when he got flipped onto his face. I simply cannot see why the cop decided that that was the ideal moment to put the guy violently to the ground -- even the other policeman seems surprised.

If you're going to put a compliant, elderly, handcuffed man on the ground for seemingly no reason, at least do it gently. Sheesh.

One of the things that I learned during 25 years of soldiering as an infantryman and leader is that soldiers will do what you train them to do, and, properly led, they will do it extremely well.

Well, this one broke training. The guy he f'ed up isn't white.

All white, every one.

Police,Ems and Fire are taught that their lives are more important than the mere subjects.

If I was confronted by “no hesitation - pregnant woman” or “no hesitation - little boy” I think most guys (myself included) would duck or worst come to worst, just bite it themselves. Why are they trying to program grown men to no feel no hesitation about killing children?

I agree with you.

Yes there is danger in doing so but sometimes it is better to just take the chance.

“Why are they trying to program grown men to no feel no hesitation about killing children?”

Good question, that. Now think the implications through.

From the neck size alone, he works out a lot, maybe even steroid use.

Maybe "roid rage" wants to be able to beat the crap out of people and he did.

Seems like the State of Alabama usually does the "right" thing.

The cop was not representing the Southern culture as I know it.

That has not been my experience with either Fire or EMS. Haven't read anything to make me think otherwise, either. What do you base that on?

You think the Nazis only put adults into the showers and ovens?

Speaking of Nazis...

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” Barack Hussein Obama, 7/2/2008
They don’t call it a Civil Defense force, that would imply we need (or perhaps that we deserve) defense. The official name is National Civilian Community Corps.

I think of it as the NatCCC, or more simply, as the NatCs...

We were taught over and over again that if a rescuer/officer got injured he/she would automatically be first ALS care and first transport. This is simply valuing one life above another.

Omg,, ok. That pig needs his ass kicked badly. Really badly.
I don't use the term Pig but this guy represents one. Just damn.

I know many Indian people and they are the most harmless of all the
cultures I've ever met. I treat them with respect because they treat
myself and others the same. This is just horrible.

Like you, I have never thought that either about fire/ems.
My brother-in-law is 20 yr. ems and is also swat trained because
he is sometimes required to attend swat raids as their ems person.
He is amazed at the difference in philosophy between the approach
of the law enforcement folks vs. the ems folks.

Oh, the stories I have heard...

“...if a rescuer/officer got injured he/she would automatically be first...”
-
I have never heard any reports of that.
In a typical swat raid, from start to finish,
it is usually less than 60 seconds on the clock.
Any injuries on either side (law enforcement or perpetrator)
and triaged by ems and handled accordingly.
