Was Cruz running for President?

There is an entirely different dynamic when voting in a national or single State/district election (Not to mention name recognition, shift in campaign strategy/tactics etc...). In the recent past, Democrat Senators/Governors in the South have traditionally won races in States where Republican national candidates would crush their Democrat opponent.

Then you have voters who only vote for Presidential Candidates and leave the rest of the ballot blank.

Re: “Then you have voters who only vote for Presidential Candidates and leave the rest of the ballot blank.”

That’s why I provided the percentage numbers.

Romney got a higher percentage of Texas presidential voters than Cruz’s percentage of Texas senate voters.

That is meaningful, because there are Democrats, too, who vote just for president and leave the rest of the ballot blank.

By the way, the only Texas exit poll I can find on Cruz’s senate race shows Cruz got just 35% of the Latino vote.

Here’s the link:

http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/11/13/1178721/poll-latino-republican-sen-elect-ted-cruz-received-no-boost-from-latinos/

Finally, why don’t give me a list of the states that Cruz will win, but Romney lost.

In other words, please show me how Cruz gets to 270 electoral votes.
