The TV isn’t eavesdropping, that’s why it’s tinfoilery.
I think the "TV" refers to "TellMeVision" - as to who "Me" is, anyone's guess (Obama cronies most likely).
You and I can see the danger, but many just think it is cool technology. I know people who already have this and they say they are in love with it. It is disturbing that someone will be collecting what your children are saying at home as they grow up, and then targeting them from that info. If a company like amazon or google or potentially the govt thinks your kids are being raised in a conservative home, they can start feeding your kids only liberal information and filtering out conservative info.
Well yeah, how do people think voice recognition works? It listens to you CONSTANTLY, learning how you pronounce words so that when you give it a command it can figure it out. Don’t like it, don’t use the feature.
If it has voice recognition it will do something similar.
Good grief!!
Can’t those dog-eaters spy on their own people, instead of spying on us?
Oh, wait a minute.......!
No doubt, the Feds have a backdoor.
I’m sure that if Samsung does it, others do.
The Feds won’t allow a lawsuit because of “national security” concerns.
> Translation... Your Samsung TV is spying on you.
Re-Translation...Samsung you’re about to have to file bankruptcy because no one will be buying your products anymore...
What if Samsung was passing the data to the Feds?
That’s what the word is on the street. Would you be okay with them passing it on to the Feds?
Exactly!
Agree 100%
Call it trading your freedoms for technology.
>! The TV isnt eavesdropping, thats why its tinfoilery.
But that could sure be fixed with an online update couldn’t it? Thats not tinfoilery. The fact that the feature can be enabled remotely is not a good idea...i’m sure they’ve never thought of that though.../s
Television becomes tell-on-u-vision
NSA coders start working on their own upgrade for it in 1...2...3
The TV has been watching us for decades.
Local cops can turn on your cell phone supposedly for tracking purposes. If a cell phone can be turned on, they can hear you and see you through the cell phone camera.
TV ping
I've got voice recognition in my computer. It's an optional feature built into the OS, which you can turn on. But you have to press a key (that you choose) prior to speaking a phrase. It was novel for a couple of weeks but soon became annoying. "Logoff", etc. spoken commands just seemed idiotic after a while. Sort of like "clap on" for turning on lights.
