Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) believes that the mainstream media have not done enough to advance the pro-amnesty amnesty.
The mainstream media, in their “balanced” immigration reports, often have a pro-amnesty Republican and a pro-amnesty Democrat touting the benefits of comprehensive amnesty legislation while never mentioning the impact such legislation will have on American workers outside of the permanent political class. Pro-enforcemnet voices are never given the time of day. In fact, Univision’s Jorge Ramos, who has interviewed pro-enforcemnet advocates like D.A. King, has been more fair and balanced than his mainstream media brethren on the immigration issue–and that’s saying something.
The mainstream press lauds DREAMers as valedictorians, vilifies Americans opposed to amnesty because of the impact it would have on American workers of all backgrounds, and ignores crimes committed by illegal immigrants. And when Gallup, the organization the mainstream press most respects, publishes a poll that found only seven percent of Americans want more immigration at this time, the media that is quick to publish every bit of minutiae from the reputable Gallup organization ignores it. But that is still not enough for Gutierrez, who declared “they haven’t understood our relevance.”
“We’re still not as important as we should be,” he said in a interview with TeleSur English when asked if the mainstream press is aiding anti-amnesty advocates.
Gutierrez, speaking of the 11 million illegal immigrants, said that “there are still workers that are invisible to America,” but conceded that they are “showing themselves more and more.”

This may be a sign that they're worried. They are desperate for the Congress to codify Obama's actions, but they know it's not likely to happen. Both McConnell and Boehner have been forced to pretend to be conservative and against Amnesty. They'll probably cave eventually on DHS funding but that will be all that will happen with Immigration in this congress.
And everything that happens regarding illegal immigrants, the murders, the diseases, the fraud, will be on Obama with nobody else to blame.
Again, I think they're worried.

I have to agree with this. All too often I encounter "workers" that are unable to speak the American language. Are they illegal? I have no idea, but I think our immigration policy should require a proficiency in the American language prior to receiving a green card. To add to that, to become a citizen, a mastery should be required. Additionally, I wouldn't mind a law that required a mastery of our language to vote. (I am only half serious as I write the latter; but imagine what voting would be like in American cities if it were to happen.)

He has to be kidding. The MSM are rated at 10 out of 10 on the Pimping for Progressives scale. Maybe the MSM could improve their image by firing some of the staff and news readers and hire illegals to do their jobs .... now that would send a positive message.

Why bother? You are NOT going to be deported. you can get a tax number, you can get all kinds of bennies like healthcare and your kids get schooled at no cost to you. Even a bank will issue you a credit card and you can also get loans.

Nothing will ever be done as long as Mexico can export their poverty freely as our Fed Govt CONTINUES to allow them to do — it is all about MONEY AND POLITICS here. Votes and cheap labor for businesses....but at horrible cost to the American taxpayer and citizens.

We don’t allow cattle to enter without a background health and ancestry check which we also reqiure of legal immigrants who wait years and still go thru health and record checks. We also require that any legal immingrant demonstrate prior to entry that they offer a contribution to our society and not dependency upon it .
Yet we’re letting children and gang bangers in without doing any of this which has resulted in dispersing virulent new diseases (measles) and drug use which has resulted in unreported cases in schools where these illegal kids were placed.. Plus shoved a severe financial strain on local governments where they are placed .
Should any candidate for Attorney General supporting that practice be denied confirmation ?(Yes) (No) .Should those given this bypassed favored treatment who miss their INS hearing be deported fortwith ? (Y) (N).. ? Denied re-entry (Y)(N) ?
In “countries where an American citizen decides to be a “legal” emigree never mind being a seasonal visitor still are denied voting privledges. Own land in their own name. Face steep fines before getting kicked out let alone denied income and energy subsistance including food stamps, or bring in family members .
I (do) (don’t) believe we should allow such full citizenship privledges mentioned above which are denied by the country of national origin of the above, to a legal American immigrant , deny such full citizen privledges to any (emigree) (seasonal vistor) (illegal) if their country does not allow those same privledges to any citizen of the United States, .
While such a position will be condemed as defacto deportation particularly by the political establishment .Would you continue to support a Senator who refuses to support such restrictions ? Probably true. Most Asian immigrants and decendants have a work ethic, family values, and willingness to abide by our laws. I would trade a 1000 Mexicans "pouring across the border" for one Asian. I know this because I have over 20 years of dealing with illegal immigration.
I was a supporter of FAIR (Federation for Immigration Reform) way back in the early 90's. I was also a Minuteman and worked with Jim Chilcrist to secure the border around Tombstone. I know of what I talk, and Hispanic immigrants do not have the same mindset as Asians. So many Latinos just want "feebies" and build their enclaves outside of traditional America. I am sick of "multi-cultural diversity". It is killing this nation.
