Not terribly far from the Arkansas line.
Without any other clues, I’d look for a Clinton connection.
He was Attorney General during this period.
Thanks. I had never heard any more about it. Terrible story.
Yes, we have it on our satellite service. Not sure about cable. It is on TNT.
It’s a good show - these two investigators, one, a crime scene analyst and the other a former DA revisit cold crime cases. They often have expert interrogators or other consultants brought in on their team. They have been able to make headway in a number of crimes all over the country.
Just did a search and came up with these:
You can actually watch some of the episodes.

Here is the form TNT has available for those who wish to submit a case for consideration. They require that in order for them to be involved, they want the local jurisdiction law enforcement be involved in the submission.

See my post 43, FWIW.
See some links in my post 43.
How awful! This makes my skin crawl. Those poor little girls and their parents. I was a long time GS, troop member from Brownies through Seniors, camp counselor, troop organizer, troop leader, and camp organizer. I remember camping in remote areas. I don’t remember hearing of this case, but in the 80s things did change in terms of security when we began taking our husbands with us and some of the leaders and their husbands sat up beside the campfire all night.

Greta was all over this one too for awhile.
(Speculation: I can't help but wonder if the local/state cops had a pretty good idea who it was and were just biding their time... )
It turned out to be a local little white trash dude who was a psycho to boot... he was in jail on charges of murdering his girlfriend and confessed the previous murder of the girls to a cellmate.
Just stopped and shot them just because they were there.
True. Who could forget that Canadian couple? Homolka and Bernardo. She helped him lure her own sister; then assisted him while he tortured and murdered her.
I remember that trick. We used to scare the crap out of first year Scout campers with it.
Haven’t thought about it in years.
L
That was a terrible miscarriage of justice that she was released!
Thanks Texokie.
I agree!
