I swear we elect idiots to Congress.
wasn’t there and Seinfeld episode on this??
SMH.
Is anyone concerned that the Feds have a say so in hand washing? I can’t find it in the Constitution. Perhaps if one were to wash his hands in “interstate commerce” or something.
(I used to think that spelling was a marker for probable homosexuality. But now I suppose it's also a marker for stupidity.)
He should have just shut the ............ Up!
Yeah, it’s kinda’ like the rule that doctors don’t have to scrub their hands before operating on their patients, as long as they inform them that their hands are dirty. With all the BS we get from government these days, laws requiring hygiene standards in the food service industry don’t rate on the quibble meter.
I hope he enjoys his Ecoli Burger.
With all that’s going on in the world reversing a common sense regulation is all this guy has to do?
Forcing restaurants to post signs is enforceable.
Forcing employees to wash hands may or may not be.
I don’t think you can install cameras inside bathrooms. You may be able to move hand washing stations to the kitchen and have a procedure to make sure one washes his hands when leaving the bathroom.
Amazing times we live in. ;-)
This is the cancer of our country, growing government regulation of all aspects of our lives. Our “leaders” won’t be happy until the general public behaves blindly like robots and they live in secluded enclaves of freedom. Throw the bums out and enforce our freedom granting Constitution and Bill of Rights.
>>>Ok so let me see if I have this right. Tillis is against the government forcing restaurants to require that their employees wash their hands after using the bathroom, but for the government forcing restaurants to post signs saying that their employees may or may not have washed their hands after using the bathroom?
I swear we elect idiots to Congress. <<<
And what happens if they fail to post the “Employees don’t wash hands signs” and employees are caught not washing hands? Obviously there would have to be a law against that, with some sort of penalty, so you haven’t eliminated any regulation but only replaced one reasonable regulation with a far, less effective one.
The other unintended consequence could be nearly ALL restaurants posting “employees might not have washed hands” signs to cover themselves legally. If that happens, customer will start to assume the signs are there to remove liability and that the employees actually are washing hands.
Anyone who doubts this should read the long list of ridiculous safety warnings in the owners manual of any appliance or device that uses electricity or that could with any type of absurd misuse become “dangerous”.
While I get his point philosophically, he chose just about the worst example, by attacking a regulation that is not at all burdensome and significantly contributes to public health.
So who is flat earth now? I'm waiting for a Doctor to come out and revise
surgical procedure back to the 9th century.
This “hand washing” episode just doesn’t fit the Tom Tillis we know here in North Carolina.
I’d like to see an unedited video of this interview to determine whether or not Tom Tillis was led up to this gaff by a crafty interviewer and then quoted out of context.
Llave ustedes manos.
Clean yer frickin hands....pigs...
It’s wonderful there are no bigger problems for congress to address!!! Obama has truly transformed Amerika into a socialist paradise!
This is what happens when you hire a GOP Establishment hack to represent you.
They are idiots!
Idiots like this are always the source for leading news on MSNBC
Poems and jokes from fifty years ago..

HEY WAITER, THIS FOOD TASTES LIKE S#!t!
WELL, IT IS S#1t!
One of the legitimate roles of government is to enforce contracts. If a restaurant has a sign saying its employees wash their hands after a restroom visit, then they must be held to that.
