Sarah Palin, toying with a presidential bid, has joined a growing effort to choke off President Obamas plan to rule through executive order by calling a Convention of States to draw up amendments limiting his power.
This idea is really the last recourse of the citizens to rein in D.C. and restore our country to a Constitutionally limited federal government, Palin said in a new Facebook post endorsing the plan pushed by the Virginia-based group Citizens for Self Governance.
She is lending her efforts to urge legislators in Richmond to approve having Virginia join in the convention, already endorsed by over a dozen states.

Total, complete waiste of time. Pissing into the wind. Most of congress will die of old age before this would be done. If congress really wants to stop obama, just cut off the funding. But that takes "cajones", and they are in short supply in the nation's capital. All most of today's politicians want to do these days is BS, blather, pontifacate and run for reelection. SAD.

If you put the USConst on the table, you put ALL OF IT AT ONCE - not just the parts You want to change.
Which means, Leftists can easily -ridiculously easily - hijack the convention agenda and delete things like parts of the 1st Amendment, all of the Second, and re-tool the 4th and 8th to suit their needs.
GoldPup makes a valid point: we will not see reform in our lifetimes due to the corruption. Nor will a quixotic campaign.
Jefferson said, “You will not need the second amendment until they try to take it away from you.” So that will be the tipping point for all the chair sitters here.

I must admit our presidential removal system has never really worked, starting (Not so Coincidentally) with the First Democrat President Andrew Jackson, Who SHOULD have been removed after the Nullification Crisis.
And I am sure most of you are aware of Andrew Johnson and Slick Willy.
But a Convention of States is certainly worth a shot.
We Must take an interest in saving our Republic or no one else will.
Let’s Roll Back Fedzilla! Go Sarah!!

This is probably our last, practical, legal and constitutional method of saving our country, folks.
We need to stand behind this and create a grassroots momentum at the local level, driving it through each state.
We can’t allow the national debate to take control of this. It must come from the ground up.

Instead of just talking about our need for a balanced budget while powerful politicians ignore the will of the people and dig us trillions of dollars more into debt, we have a way to force DC to listen. A provision within the Constitution gives states the power to call a convention for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution like a balanced budget amendment.

I agree with Levin on this. . .the dire warnings and fear-mongering (here in VA, it’s delegate Bob Marshall) about a convention of the States does nothing to stop the changing of the Constitution taking place ON A DAILY BASIS!! It’s like refusing to leave a burning building because its a hot, sunny day and I don’t have any sunscreen on.

I am certain that the founding fathers knew there were means that were more practical, not legal and not in accord with their constitution
They were the recent winners of a war that was all of the above

I am not sure they could pull it off but it would be great if they could.
Why don’t we all just sit down and die, then?
That is the absolute last strategy, and while it may be constitutional and legal and may be necessary, it is far from practical.
