ISIS, known for its videos of hostage decapitations, apparently decided to up the ante Tuesday, reportedly releasing photos appearing to show captured Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasaesbeh being burned alive. The U.S. government has not verified the images yet.
al-Kasaesbeh was captured in late December after his plane went down in Syria; ISIS claimed to have shot the plane down, though intelligence sources disputed this.
ISIS has been bargaining with three different hostages to secure the release of Iranian Sajida al-Rishawi, imprisoned by Jordan for a 2005 attack that killed 60 people. It had said it would spare al-Kasaesbeh if al-Rishawi were freed, but failed to provide Jordan with proof of life.
The Sunni militants executed two Japanese hostages after similar deadlines passed last week.
UPDATE: Jordanian state TV claimed Tuesday that al-Kasaesbeh was killed one month ago, hence why ISIS has been unable to provide proof of life.

And so why again did we scrap enhanced interrogations? Oh yes.. so when OUR troops find themselves in the hands of the likes of ISIS, they’ll be treated “humanely.”
If this is what they’ll do to a fellow muslim, imagine what they’ll do to an American military member.
Those IS dudes have quite a public affairs strategy. Looks like they’re doing well enough for everyone else on their own, including the U.S. jail house treatment against the Jordanian pilot.
Don’t insult dogs. Worms, the kind used for fishbait is a better anology.
