The ballots went out way before the movie hit the theaters in a huge fashion. Boyhood will win. I saw both and Boyhood probably deserves the win because it was shot over 12 years and had some amazing scenes. I definitely love American Sniper but it was too late to have a chance as the voting was practically done before it was released...remember it has only had wide release for 3 weeks.

“Thus insuring it won’t win the Academy Award.”

In a perverse way, I hope it doesn’t win any Academy Awards, because it would be proof positive that the Awards don’t mean anything. Further, if it doesn’t win anything, we should hit Hollywood with it early and often. The only thing more “sacred” in Hollywood than their liberalism are their wallets! After all, what pays for their limos? Facelifts?, Boob jobs?
