I don’t disagree that 64-bit is on the way. I also agree that phones will soon be comparable to today’s laptops, although I personally prefer the laptop, or even tablet format. My eyes just aren’t good enough to appreciate the wonders of a 5 inch QHD display, not that has anything to do with the OS transition.
What I find hard to believe is that, with Android L (64 bit Android) on the way, Apple has secured an insurmountable pre-emptive advantage.
Well ... it’s sort of like “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” ... :-) ...

Just give a few years, they will be. The mobile devices on the upper end already play games from gaming consoles and PC approximately 7 years ago (Bioshock, Prince of Persia Trilogy). While slightly lower in quality, it’s a testament to how effectively computing power gets scaled down.
