Ive already spoken about one of the plays made by Apple and Tim Cook to damage Android. This was the push to 64-bit computing in the iPhone 5S. As that smartphone was announced, the roadmaps for Android devices did not have 64-bit computing planned in the near future. Manufacturers and component suppliers were bounced into making bold claims that they would join Apple in the 64-bit world.
They had no choice but to do this. Androids success was built around the promise of being faster, better, and stronger than its rival OS. If Apple was 64-bit, Android had to be 64-bit as well. Promises were made, plans were changed, and the rush to 64-bit comp
The impact of that push remain to this day. Qualcomms Snapdragon 810 was the chipset expected to lead the charge, but production issues have forced manufacturers to delay products into Q3 2015, or choose alternative chips with the resulting compatibility problems of running third-party Android applications.
Apple weakened the chipsets in Android by forcing the manufacturers to follow them on the 64-bit roadmap. Resources, time, and developmental energies were directed away from competing directly with Apple and into something that has taken far longer than planned.

If the business is “going down the hole” ... it’s difficult for that to sound like a commercial ... :-) ...
But, if you start talking about a specific company and it’s doing well and it’s stock is going up ... you’re probably going to sound like a commercial.
Why is it Apple is the only company where any disagreement or skepticism about an article elicits accusations of being a "hater"?.
I don’t disagree that 64-bit is on the way. I also agree that phones will soon be comparable to today’s laptops, although I personally prefer the laptop, or even tablet format. My eyes just aren’t good enough to appreciate the wonders of a 5 inch QHD display, not that has anything to do with the OS transition.
What I find hard to believe is that, with Android L (64 bit Android) on the way, Apple has secured an insurmountable pre-emptive advantage.
Apple is a faith.
That’s obviously his intention ... to drag it out, make it tedious and boring ... :-) ...
He does the same thing with every Apple thread ... because if you find his name there ONCE ... you’ll find it there 10, 20 or 30 times with the most boring conversation possible ... LOL ...
On a phone, can anyone tell the difference between 32 and 64 bit systems?
...
It’s hard to tell the difference on a desktop.
Well ... it’s sort of like “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” ... :-) ...
That’s a real advantage.
If that's all you'll talk about, and will allow to be talked about, then yes, you will. For good reason.
And ... an “Apple-hater” is faith on the other side.
Mind you, both sides will say they have the facts, but how each side wants to “present the facts” can be referred to as “faith” if you will.
Apple-haters have such GREAT FAITH that they are willing to repeatedly post their hate-posts right in the middle of threads that were never directed to them in the first place ... :-) ...
You “hate” isn’t directed at the company. Apple haters on FR aim to shut down the discussion.
I see many FReepers that have specific interests and they don’t post anywhere else other than a select group of topics ... just like the Apple-haters pick “Apple” as their specific topic, among others for their hate-posts.
I usually recognize these particular FReepers that only post on particular topics, and who supply good and useful information from worthwhile sources, as good for me to keep up with. The “Apple-haters” ... however ... don’t contribute anything worthwhile or useful.
I suppose you can make that argument.
Then again, to quote Bill Gates, “Why would anyone ever need more than 640k of RAM?”
FReepers post here on their “own” topics of interest. They don’t try to be “Politically Correct” and evenly balance out their posts so that “all topics are represented fairly” ... LOL ...
We don’t have a “Fairness Doctrine” (as the government does) ... on Free a Republic ... :-) ...
He’ll never live that one down! ... :-)
You don't allow any disagreement at all, and then try to make yourselves out to be the victim.
That would be like the Democratic Underground coming in here and saying to Jim Robinson (when he kicks them outta here) that they are the victims because Jim doesn’t allow them their say (even if what they say is INSANE and IDIOTIC!) ... LOL ...
Prove it. My comments are very innocuous on these threads.
That's how it sounds when you start claiming anyone who disagrees with you is "trying to shut down the discussion".
Prove any of the accusations you've already made about me, and who or what I hate and why.
It only “sounds” that way to the Apple-haters ... just lIke the Democratic Underground would think they are victims ... :-) ...
