NEW ORLEANS
(Excerpt) Read more at thestate.com ...
Something tells me this ban will be reversed rather quickly and Landrieu will end up in jail or the river before years end
Almost EVERYBODY smokes here.
There is also no freedom in nanny-state authoritarianism.
So Tyranny is good for business? Well that justifies it, then...
I don’t drink or smoke. I go to Bourbon St to watch the drunks and listen to jazz, the smoking ban will make it even more enjoyable.
“There is no freedom in addiction.”
I have an addiction to Freedom and people such as you will never take it away.
This ban includes e cigarettes too but will not be enforced by the cops
City inspectors and the bars will be expected do it
This will not stand
Go find a jazz club that doesn't allow smoking, you Nanny State Nazi!
Go smoke at home you foul smelling..........
The fact that you are willing to use the government to force others to conform to your idea of happiness tells me that you don’t understand the purpose of this forum.
Frankly I detest the smell of cigarette smoke. Smoking killed my mother. But I don’t believe it it the place of government to deny businesses the right to allow their customers to engage in smoking (a perfectly legal activity) while on their premesis.
Only a Nanny State Nazi like yourself would favor a law like this.
So get off this site, you big dummy.
Wow! I guess you’d like to make that a law also. Is there any other freedom you would like to take away from your fellow citizens just to make you happy?
For those of you out there who are whining about “smoking sections” going away........... they went away because it was a stupid idea that didn't work.
Smoke doesn't stay in a small area around the smokers, it goes everywhere. It took 50 years but finally the non smokers out numbered the smokers and smokers are still crying about it. Button it up. As far as people dying from smoking, my mother, father and every member of the family from their generation died from smoke. As did the parents, aunt, and uncles of my husbands family. They were free to smoke and they did, everywhere and they paid the price.
The Me Me pigs and the Gimmi pigs are every where, even on this forum.
Everybody in the family huh? I’m the youngest at 64 and all my siblings are still alive and doing fine as is my 93 year old father and the whole bunch are smokers. Why aren’t we dead? I’m starting to get that smell of bullchit coming from your posts, anybody else smell it? I think bullchit should be banned and you should by law be forced to stay at home while spouting it. To hell with it I think you should just be forced to stay at home, at least that way we don’t have to put up with your whining and crying, it fouls the air of Freedom.
Having a no smoking section in a bar/restaurant/airplane is like having a no peeing section in a swimming pool.
I know what bulls... smells like, my husband raises rodeo bulls and I have spent lots of time in Las Vegas at the PBR. You should go there they haven't banned smoking in the casinos.
BTW I am not whining and crying....... you are! :)
It’s reasonable for someone who doesn’t like smoke to applaud having more places smoke-free.
But why must the government impose it?
Anyone can open a smoke-free establishment.
Why do you oppose that: the market solution?
They should be able to do that and as I said, I will vote with my feet.
I was an asthmatic child who grew up in a smoke filled house, car, family, so it is not surprising that I want to avoid tobacco smoke. It brings back bad memories of hospital emergency rooms.
It is called public opinion, there are many more non smokers than there are smokers today.
No you said family fill in the blank, and we’ve had this ranch for over 120 years I’m very familiar with the smell of BS and your posts reek from it.
I was a total addict...took me almost 5 yrs to completely quit. Smoked for 50+ yrs but I was lucky..no damage to lungs/heart.
Good for you; it is hard!
