Halting President Obama’s deportation amnesty will end up hurting Uncle Sam’s bottom line, the Congressional Budget Office said Thursday in a new report that is bound to cause more problems for Republicans trying to block the White House’s executive action.
While keeping illegal immigrants in the shadows would save the government billions on spending, it would also mean billions in taxes that never get paid, leaving the federal budget a total of $7.5 billion worse over the next decade than it would be if Mr. Obama’s amnesties take effect as scheduled, the CBO said.
House Republicans have passed a bill to cancel the 2012 amnesty for so-called Dreamers and last November’s new amnesty, which expands the policy for Dreamers and enacts a new program for illegal immigrant parents.
The bill is now awaiting action in the Senate, where GOP leaders said they plan to tackle it beginning next week.
While the White House has said up to 5 million illegal immigrants would be eligible for the two amnesties, the CBO said it expects only about 1.5 million parents and 750,000 Dreamers to take advantage by 2017.
“CBO expects that the parents who are eligible for this program will be less likely than the people who are eligible for the original program to declare their unlawful presence to the government for a three-year deferral; in addition, they may have a harder time proving eligibility,” the analysts said.
Canceling the amnesties would mean those folks don’t come forward and don’t get the work permits that go along with the amnesty, sending many of them back to work off-the-books, which means less tax revenue for the government. The CBO said payroll taxes would take the biggest hit, suffering a $17 billion decline.

Low wage immigrants whom will get their taxes “paid” BACK and the Earned Income Redistribution (credit).
Once again, it’s not the Illegal Immigrants that are paying for themselves, it’s the Middle Class that is being destroyed to pay for the future Dem voters.
I call triple BS on this. Most of not all of these illegals will work for minimum wage. If I am not mistaken most low income earners get all of their taxes refunded not to mention the earned child hood credits and other welfare benefits their US born children are eligible for. I think the US would actually save money if they were in the shadows

You should look this up- 70% of illegals in texas receive government assistance and don’t work- and it’s not much different throughout the country

These figures are off a bit- seems that the average illegal/legal aliens on some form of welfare is around 52% or so- the 75% was for texas, (which actually was 70%) so take the final figure of 60 billion a year, and cut by 1/4 or so-
OK, let us examine this bit of connivance. It assumes that illegals are going to give up their underground, free-ride benefits in order to pay taxes. Maybe some will, but most will prefer to get their money tax free. In addition, legal status will dray more illegals to government programs like housing, food credits, Medicare and so on. It’s like the argument that giving illegals driver’s licenses will cause them to get insurance. Sure!
All federal expenses, saved or not saved, are just the beginning of total expenses, including those paid by ordinary, legitimate citizens. We will still bear the brunt of things like auto thefts, illegal drunk drivers, general crimes. Don’t forget the number of illegals in our school systems, or the number of illegals in our prisons. Is the federal government going to take their ill-gotten tax booty, and share the wealth?
I’d like to see their formula. If illegals take away - say - one million jobs from citizens, that would put those citizens on unemployment insurance, food stamps, and/or welfare. That would cost billions.

We don’t allow cattle to enter without a background health and ancestry check which we also reqiure of legal immigrants who wait years and still go thru health and record checks. We also require that any legal immingrant demonstrate prior to entry that they offer a contribution to our society and not dependency upon it .
Yet we’re letting children and gang bangers in without doing any of this which has resulted in dispersing virulent new diseases (measles) and drug use which has resulted in unreported cases in schools where these illegal kids were placed.. Plus shoved a severe financial strain on local governments where they are placed .
Should those given this bypassed favored treatment who miss their INS hearing be deported fortwith ? (Y) (N).. ? Denied re-entry (Y)(N) ? Should Loretta Lynn be chief law enforcement officer of the US (Y)(N). Will you still support the addressed if they vote yes ? (Y)(N) (hell No)
Restore the value of American citizenship
In “countries where an American citizen decides to be a “legal” emigree never mind being a seasonal visitor. Are denied voting privledges. Own land in their own name. Face steep fines before getting kicked out let alone receive income and energy subsistance including food stamps, or bring in family members
Should we deny such full citizen privledges to any individual mark which best applies to a (emigree) (seasonal vistor) (illegal) if their country does not allow those same privledges to any citizen of the United States.
While such a position will be condemed as defacto deportation particularly by the political establishment would you refuse to support (insert name) if he/she refuses to support such restrictions ? (Y) (N)
Does that also include erecting border barriers such as fencing designed to discourage surrepticious or uncontolled entry ? (Yes) (No)
