Seen the light? Ohio Gov. Kasich says Bible supports Obamacare

Matthew 25 includes a call for more entitlement spending and provides biblical justification for Obamacare, or so says Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Promoting Obamacare in South Dakota, Montana and several national interviews last week, Kasich touted the Bible chapter’s depiction of judgment based on individual charity as a sweeping endorsement of government programs for the poor.

Kasich, a Republican, campaigned against Obamacare in 2010, saying the law’s Medicaid expansion would “stick states with large and unsustainable costs.” He unilaterally implemented the Obamacare Medicaid expansion in 2013.

The Obamacare expansion puts able-bodied, working-age adults with no dependent children on Medicaid at a cost of billions per year in new federal spending. By Kasich’s description, Matthew 25 amounts to a divine endorsement of the policy.

“Now, if you ever read Matthew 25, I think, ‘I wanna feed the hungry and clothe the naked,'” Kasich said when asked about Obamacare at a Jan. 20 event in Pierre, South Dakota.

“Now, I don’t know whether you ever read Matthew 25, but I commend it to you, the end of it, about do you feed the homeless and do you clothe the poor,” Kasich told Montana legislators when asked about Obamacare at a Helena press conference the next day.

Kasich cited Matthew 25 when defending his Obamacare expansion during a Fox News interview aired Jan. 22, during a Jan. 22 Hugh Hewitt interview and during an NPR interview aired Friday.

this ‘obamacare’ obmanation is named for someone that serves the muslim sunni god, and when has he ever did anything that we would consider as supporting the Holy Word of God,

His muslims are exempt,

Kasich just wants the same power and control over the people that obama wants, this form of soft tyranny is never going away and will only increase in our lives until we’re all in bondage,

> Healthcare is one issue and we don’t let people die in the streets.
Mandatory insurance is the real issue. Why can’t I pay my doctor the $150 for a checkup instead of $5000 a year for insurance?

Because it gives them $4,850 more to steal to go on golfing vacations, buy more bullets, assaul weapons, and DHS vehicles to use against Tea baggers.../s or not

"Where does he find any verse of scripture calling for government to take care of the poor?"

Proponents of a planned economy and charitable bureaucracies comeback will be that government is made up of individuals/representation sent by individuals.

The folly/where to attack/expose lies with the specific legislation and unintended consequences (Although a lot intend those consequences to create dependency) that are produce.

All of you idiots that claim he's a conservative who should run for President, please leave the room planet and take that dolt with you.

The Bible says it’s OK to sell your enemies into slavery.

Maybe that’s what he is referring to.

Republicans are just pretending to oppose it.

They wanted the subsidies (risk corridors) for the insurance companies. Note that this is also a feature of Part D Medicare, pushed for and signed by good old GWB.

The GOP is pro-business, not pro-freedom.

Are you an Obama supporter? (since you referenced Bush in that manner). Just curious...

"Charity is VOLUNTARY. This is not. Therefore it is not Biblical. Was that so hard?"

Anything else would be slavery...or robbery...take your pick....

He is not alone. Bush, Romney, other prominent Pubbies are all starting to blather stuff like this.

Tells me their internal polling must be truly frightening. The majority of voters have bought into this class warfare stuff and want a government that gives them more free sh**.

I’m afraid the Julias have won.

And of course, he forgets the 10th Commandment that’s in there, too.

You nailed it.

Communism was based on a lot of truths in the NT - with the huge difference being that communism is forced upon everyone, Christianity is the result of a changed heart and motives, and totally voluntary.

One is slavery, the other is freedom, and love.

If I give to the poor only because I am forced to, there is zero credit in that. If I give because I want to, that is a virtue.

Kasich is incredibly blind and/or stupid to not see this.

It is impossible for a government to practice charity, PERIOD. Everything a government has, it takes by force from those who earn it - therefore, nothing it gives out is charitable.

ObamaCare is the antithesis of Biblical. It is NOT about “feeding and clothing” the poor. It is about deriving and consolidating political power and oppressing the masses of citizens, all the while stealing their money and lining the pockets of the politicians and the big-business conspirators.

Kasich betrays his true colors.
