Ted Cruz and Lee Zeldin have sent a letter to Kerry asking for an investigation into whether or not Obama has launched a political campaign against Netanyahu before the March elections. It’s a good question because we know White House officials have been throwing Netanyahu under the bus in Israeli media recently. But apparently there’s a lot more too it:
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Congressman Lee Zeldin, R-NY-1, today sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry asking for information regarding media reports that U.S. taxpayer dollars are being used to fund efforts to influence upcoming elections in Israel.
“Has President Obama launched a political campaign against Prime Minister Netanyahu and his representatives?” Sen. Cruz asked. “This administration’s relentless harassment of Israel is utterly incomprehensible. The Islamic Republic of Iran is pursuing the deadliest weapons on the planet, and there can be no doubt that their first target will be Israel, followed by the United States. This administration should be focusing its animosity on the very real enemies we face, not on our staunch allies.”
“It is completely unacceptable to use U.S. tax dollars to influence the elections in Israel,” said Rep. Zeldin. “State Department grants should never be given to entities working to overthrow strong allies like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We have great allies around the world, but Israel is our strongest, and a beacon of freedom in a region filled with radical Islamic extremists and state sponsored terrorism. Today, I join with Sen. Ted Cruz in calling for a U.S. Department of State investigation into this important matter.”

Cruz is demanding answers.
Clinton did the same thing to Netanyahu when he was president, sent Snakehead to Israel to help elect Ehud Barak and unseat Bibi, successfully. I don’t remember anyone in the senate demanding answers then, though.
Obama did the same thing in Kenya in 2006.
More illegal activity by Team Zero. Add it to the “If he wasn’t a black Islamo-Fascist gay illegal alien he’d been thrown out of office by now” file.
To try to sabotage the leader of an Ally is outrageous.
And to do that with tax money should be criminal.
If Reagan had tried this, to help out - say - Margaret Thatcher, there would have been an absolute outcry from the Democrat-controlled Congress.There would have demands for investigations. There would have been demands to know if any taxpayer money was being spent in this effort to play international politics using the resources of the Executive Branch.
And a denial from the White House would not have been enough. No where near. Numerous audits would have been demanded. What White House resources were being used in this attempt to interfere with the internal politics of a diplomatic ally? Was any classified information being given to one side of a foreign political race? How much of his time was the President spending on this? Were any of his staffers assigned to keep track of the effort?

I read a story the other day that said the Israelis were very angry about this and that it is actually helping Bibi.

Maybe, but Clinton did do it to Netanyahu, and there was no outcry from the eunuchs in congress at the time.
Which is why I'm pleased that we have Cruz, who is not prepared to sit silently while this happens to Netanyahu yet again.
