The school had a very clear dress code for the prom and shoulder straps were to be a minimum of 2”. Yes that seems like a lot but if the school was not that specific you would have gotten spaghetti straps and even strapless cause teens do like to push the envelope.
Her dress is lovely but she knew the rules and could have brought along a light matching shawl. It is ridiculous that a news station thinks her complaint is worthy of attention. Based on what the girl said, you can bet she knew she was breaking the rules and wanted to challenge the school. She probably will be the guest of honor at the next “Slut Walk” for her bravery at refusing to be sexualized. What B.S.
Adolescent immaturity at it’s finest. Challenging for the sake of challenging, not for any real reason.
Typical .. if she knew the rules .. she should have complied with them. She has no excuse.
The shoulder straps look to be 2 inches to me. The sow who choose to make a big deal out of this probably thought it meant a dress needed capped sleeves.
She ruined that beautiful girls night by making her put her coat over her Paris dress. Maybe the sow should have brought some shawls with her, to provide for the stray students who didn’t follow the rules to the letter. But providing a solution to the problem would mean the sow wouldn’t have gotten her little dictator thrills for the evening.
“shoulder straps were to be a minimum of 2.”
I’ve got gun belts narrower than that.
Her straps/shoulders of the bodice are more than two inches. She wins this one.
Whatever.
Here is the daughter of the Secretary of State of the United States of America:

Given a choice between your type and that of Alexandra's daddy, who went to Viet Nam, I'd have to side with Mr Secretary (even though I voted for GWB in 2004)!
My point is, government schools shouldn't exist, much less be making silly rules about dresses! Of course, Mr Secretary would disagree, but he sucks!
Like Ms. Smart here...
The 'cop' apparently didn't think the somewhat sheer straps counted as 'straps.'
But you live in Utah...what do you expect?
