American Sniper is tops at the box office but don’t expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won’t see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.
"A hero must be honorable, must have honor. And you can’t have honor if you’re a liar. There is no honor in lying," Ventura told The Associated Press from his winter home in Baja California, Mexico. He also noted that the movie isn’t playing there.

People quote that quote all the time. It means more for people who kill for the sake of killing and has nothing to do with protecting those around us. Jesus told his apostles if they didn’t have a sword to sell their cloak and buy them. In those days there were highway robbers too and they killed to steal from others. They were to buy those swords to defend themselves as they journeyed. That’s what I believe that quote to mean.
Anybody have any idea when the Court of Appeal will rule on the that stupid jury’s verdict?

That's why he's lashing out like a spoiled baby. He was disowned by the SEAL community after suing a war widow and now it's all sour grapes. By the way, was Jessie ever an actuall SEAL? I heard he was only a BUDs frogman.

I drove RP around the Houston area during one of his first campaigns. Regarding the economy he was saying the same things then that he is saying today. He has never changed his ways on that kind of stuff. One thing I learned, he has no filter, he will say whatever he thinks. Even stupid s*it like this.
I'd confront him if I saw him at a showing. Heck, anywhere - I'd tell him to man up and quit being such a pussy.
But you know, the greatest insult might be to just let him go. He's not worth it, not worth my time nor trouble in trying to set him straight. For someone who apparently has such a delicate ego as scruff-face, that probably hurts the most.

JV never a SEAL, either by training, or by what Navy MOS equivalent. Plus, he never deployed with as a SEAL in a SEAL platoon, which is where the rubber meets the road.
