MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - "American Sniper" is tops at the box office but don't expect to see former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura lining up at a theater for it.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL, won $1.8 million in a defamation lawsuit last year against the estate of the late Chris Kyle, the SEAL protagonist of the movie, which has sparked debate over whether snipers should be considered heroes. Ventura said Wednesday he won't see the film partly because Kyle is no hero to him.

“The reason for the Iraq invasion was concern that Iraq would make its WMDs available to AQ for future mass-casualty attacks.”
Yeah, there was some mention of Saddam’s sponsoring of terrorist activities, such as paying bounties to the widows of suicide bombers and such. However, that wasn’t the main point of the case that was made for war, and I don’t remember anyone seriously trying to connect them to 9/11.
Yea, come to Ohio Jesse. We’ll give you a party better than the one we gave Sarah Brady. We gave her a grand experience here in the Miami valley. Get some.
winner!
Okay, Now he’s gotten classless. I can defend him for suing, but not for idle vindictive gossip.
Kyle probably suffered from PTSD to some extent or another. He may have told some “tall tales” but I don’t think the story about Ventura was one of them.
The notion that Bush wanted to tie 9/11 to Iraq is a liberal concoction. A good book that sheds huge light on the Bush administration’s internal reasoning on Iraq is “War and Decision” by Douglas Feith who was undersecretary of defense under Rumsfeld. He includes many memos that show their thinking. Liberals like to claim that the Bush administration wanted to shut down civil liberties and turn the nation into a fear-ridden police state. The exact opposite was true. Bush et al. worried that a second strike on the homeland would necessitate a clamping down on civil liberties that would turn America into a nation completely at odds with its founding principles. To prevent this they wanted to take the fight to the ME, to fight AQ and the Islamic nut jobs on their home turf rather than at home.
At the end of the day, Jesse’s a clown and Chris Kyle is a hero. ‘nuff said.
What was your other screen name? Ventura hasn’t been governor for an awfully long time.
Not really. That is bullsqueeze.
Did Special Forces Snipers Kill Americans After Katrina?
It's a 2nd hand account, given two months after Kyle died and there is no other source for it. In that 2nd hand account Kyle didn't say the HE shot 30 people in NO.
Quite a few SEALs testified under oath that he did.
Witness: Ventura Said SEALs Deserved To Lose Men In Iraq
Defense lawyers in the Jesse Ventura defamation case rolled out a parade of witnesses Wednesday claiming Ventura got punched out in a California bar.
(snip)
On Wednesday, one SEAL said he saw it all. Jeremiah Dinnell told the 10-person jury he witnessed the scuffle between Ventura and Kyle. Dinnell said Ventura was loudly criticizing the war in Iraq to active duty Navy SEALs, who were attending a funeral wake. According to Dinnell, Ventura told the SEALs: You guys deserve to lose some guys over there. Dinnell said Ventura was in an aggressive stance when Kyle hit him.
That is the way I first heard it went down also, or so I thought. How in the hell did a jury go against that good defense, (with those very credible eye witnesses), put up by Kyle’s wife’s attorneys and award Ventura the win? I do not get it. I’d believe those SEAL HEROS over dirt bag Ventura any day but something swayed that jury. Any ideas what?
Jury says it can't reach unanimous verdict in Ventura trial
And then the lawyers accepted an 8-2 verdict. Don't axe me why her lawyers agreed to that.
Doesn’t this AH also believe that FEMA is a secret society that controls the world?
Feel free to use my paper shredder, if you wish.
Did the jury say they believed Ventura and Kyle got in a fight or any other type of altercation. I didn’t follow the case because I have no interest in looney tunes Ventura. The part about Ventura saying he wished a few Seals would get killed in Iraq is hard to believe; hard to believe he would say that after a lifetime of bragging about being a Seal himself. And saying it in a bar full of US Special Forces. Makes no sense, but then again Ventura can get carried away with his BS.
As far as I can remember there were multiple witnesses to the altercation but everyone was so trashed the stories didn’t jive so it was a confusing mess. I read a few of the witness accounts and it sounds like most likely Kyle punched Jesse’s lights out.
Big thanks for all of the info. I should have been paying more attention to Kyle’s story, book and Clint’s movie but I have not. (Not sure why either, I usually follow this sort of thing hard). As I mentioned in an earlier post, the DUmmies are really going after Kyle for these items.....HARD. It is not enough to go after him for being an American combat vet, being the way those idiots are regarding our brave men and women serving, they are using these items to also bang his record. The one they are really going after him on tho is that he was a 100% nutcase because he vol. for a few more tours ‘to kill’. To kill? No.....We know he vol. and bravely went back to save his brother American warriors that were still fighting there !!!!!!!!! I should stop my occ. visits to the DUmp. I get so pissed reading their crap it is not good for the old BP. I guess it is like a ‘keep your enemies close’ type snoop. It is incredible to read what a lot of our fellow American citizens over there really think of our Military. Or what they think of America in general! It makes me sick to my gut, it really does.
Ventura is a freaking lunatic
Why sure he is. A 100% nut job from years back.
