Which I think was the objective the entire time." Its how you force people to buy new gadgets. Use your updates to slow down the gadgets that were working fine for everyone till they must buy new.
Apple and Microsoft have been playing that game since they started in the biz.

Apple and Microsoft have been playing that game since they started in the biz. Shows you don't know what you're talking about. Most Apple OS X updates and upgrades have almost always resulted in the systems operating noticeably faster then they did before the update or upgrade. That is a fact.
