Since this is Brooklyn, which I know very well, if they don't have jobs they will be either collecting disability (from you), robbing with a deadly weapon (you again), or overdosing on heroin and running up a huge hospital bill (sent to you).
It really is a good solution for them to have jobs. And, "apply themselves in school"? You're kidding, right?
There is zero social value, and a lot of harm, sending people like this to any currently existing school beyond 8th grade. They have already done what they can do.
