Around three years ago in DC....huge warning went out of a snowstorm coming. They decided that instead of a two-hour delay which would be perfectly legit....they’d eat up the entire day. The snow stopped around 9AM and it was all melted by noon. I commented about this to an older guy who said in the 1970s...snow-days just never did occur in DC...folks drove and maybe got there an hour late but it was acceptable.
Daddy! Teacher says that every time a snowflake falls, a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread and a roll of toilet paper disappear from a store's shelves!

Rush, sitting in Florida, using weather reports predicting a terrible storm for New York City, to dump on liberals because the storm wasn't horrible in New York City, was a dorky mistake on his part.
If I, a conservative, was the mayor of New York City, I would have done the same thing to prepare the people so lives could be saved. And, when it didn't materialize to horrible, I would say a prayer to God thanking him the city was saved.
Those preparations the citizens bought gives them preps right now for the next bad weather or power outage, etc..
Sometimes, Rush overextends his mouth. He left New York City so he wasn't there to be involved if the storm was terrible. If he had been there, I'm sure he would have stocked up on what he might need. I would also bet he's got hurricane preps in case a hurricane comes to his part of Florida.
they’re doing their best to teach us all something but
most are really reluctant to get the msg.
And that's exactly what I did on Monday. I canceled a meeting that had been scheduled for late in the day, and the four people who remained in the office at 3:00 (most people left early, or worked from home) were sent home early. Tuesday I didn't even have to make a decision, because my home office made it for me (they closed the office for the day).
Personally, I would have no problem traveling through treacherous conditions to get to work. In addition, every one of my staff could call me at any time if they were stranded somewhere, and I would have put my own comfort and safety at risk to help them. But that's not something I would expect anyone else to do in our business.
Rush Limbaugh would have been better off keeping his mouth shut over this one.
