Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday called on Democrats to let a bill approving the Keystone XL pipeline move forward after they blocked it from reaching a final vote.
McConnell urged Senate Democrats to reconsider their opposition to moving forward, promising to allow more amendments, the chamber already having voted on two dozen.
Our Democratic friends have had more amendments considered on this bill than Republicans more amendments than all of last year combined, he said on the Senate floor.
And just a few days ago, we offered our friends the opportunity to have even more of their amendments voted on. Unfortunately, Democrats rejected that offer. Im asking them to reconsider, he added.
He said senators should work with Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairwoman Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), the panels ranking member, to get additional votes on amendments.
Join us. Work with the bill managers, he said. Lets make progress for the American people.
Democrats complained Monday that Republicans did not allow debate time on some of their amendments and summarily tabled them.
The authors of the amendment were denied 60 seconds to even explain their amendments. It didnt leave a very good taste in the mouth of many Democrats, not even those who were supporting the Keystone Canadian pipeline, Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) said Monday.
To scr** the people or tell Obama to go scr** himself? That is the question.
Good luck with that one Mitchy!
THEY'RE NOT OUR FRIENDS!
They are enemies of the American People. They hate our guts.
Did he say pretty please?
Screw the RATs!
Go Nuclear, Turtleman.
Damn, I’m really impressed with McConnell’s ability to play political hardball. /do I need a sarc tag?
Senate is a useless collection of self-promoting windbags only worried about their precious seats and goose-stepping along party lines— save for a scant few gems like Cruz, Lee and similar. The country club perks and hospice for the senior senators on their last corrupted leg must be to die for.
“Democrats complained Monday that Republicans did not allow debate time on some of their amendments and summarily tabled them.”
Where were those democrats when Harry Reid was shutting down the opposition for the last 6 years? What goes around comes around. This is fairly mild stuff yet they still whine.

My good Senator McConnell, that’s akin to a woman being raped asking her rapist to dial 911 for her. The Senate ‘RATS will do all they can to obstruct any conservative Republican legislation. When the media and ‘RATS say it is important to “GET THINGS DONE”, they mean get ONLY ‘RAT legislation done.
you got that right!
When al Franken had the gavel-
He blocked Joe LIeberman from finishing his speech
NOW Joe is a “independant” BUT caucuses with the
Demonrats- shows how “friendly Demons can be to their own kind”
when are the effeminate repub “leaders” going to shove it down the throat of the dems like they did when they had the upper hand.... what’s the problem...NO BALLS
So what if stupid uses the veto... its ammunition for 2016
and the Dems have to go onthe record with their votes...
COME ON ..... MAN UP AND USE THE HAMMER WHILE YOU HAVE IT
Pretty please????
McConnell and his mediocre dance act. He won’t ever learn because he’s too stupid and he’s also bought and paid for.
Down on your knees and beg Mitch beg.
They may be YOUR friends, Mitch, but they aren’t OURS.
The really sad part is that this dope McConnell thinks he’s going to get good press by reaching out and trying to work with the Dems. Remember how well that worked for George Bush Sr.? The Dems ran circles around him, the press still lied and called him an ineffective wimp or an “extreme conservative” (what a joke) and he was left whining and crying about how unfair it all was after he tried to be a gentleman about it.
