The flu is generally spread by coughing/airborne methods. That’s why people wear masks in public during pandemics. One doctor studying Spanish Flu caught it when an infected ferret sneezed in his face. Ferrets are good test subjects for human flu.

Note to readers: There is no such thing as “stomach flu”. A lot of people get confused by that. Those types of viruses ARE spread by contact. We had Norovirus go through our local Scout camp. Wicked!

Norovirus is another reason to keep children out of daycare. It is rampant in those places too.
