Next thing you know, Francis will be hanging out with prostitutes.
The fact that the pope met with these people is not significant in itself - as you are obliquely pointing out, Christ spent most of His time with sinners. But the consistent message Christ delivered was that sinners should forsake their sin - not that society should accept their sin as normal.
So what will be more interesting will be what message comes out from Francis about the lifestyle this woman has chosen - does he think it should be accepted and embraced, or does he call for those in these cases to come to repentance and a change of their path?
“Next thing you know, Francis will be hanging out with prostitutes.”
Or maybe he will give Pelousey “absolution” for her stand on abortion!
Jesus didn’t exactly ‘hang out with prostitutes’, but he did meet with them publically.
Next thing you know, Francis will be hanging out with prostitutes.
Jesus did. I really believe that Pope Francis is the closest person to Jesus we have seen in history. He is incredibly amazing with his absoluteness to Jesus. It is uncanny.
Well, if Francis does hang out with prostitutes, maybe he should try to convert them. Something like tell them their sins are forgiven and go and sin no more?
That’s the thing Francis never says. He seems to believe that he’s not supposed to help the lame, the halt and the blind, but that being one of them is the Christian ideal.
Dorothy Day once told me that the poor don’t want you to join them, they want to join you. And this is true for anybody who is in a morally compromising circumstance. What they really want is to get right. But with a twit in charge of the one entity that could help them, they’re not going to have that chance.
Yours is probably the only worth while comment here - wonder how many of the knee-jerkers will grasp it.
