This is how we negotiate now. We give ultimatums, and when the other side refuses to heed, we move the goal post, change the deadline, or claim that that ultimatum wasn’t really explained properly. Then the other side says “well look at all the damage you did by issuing an ultimatum you didn’t honor” and we say sorry and give them money.
