Too bad she probably wouldn't be open to reading "When Helping Hurts" or "Toxic Charity". What those books point out clearly is that a lot of the "help" we extend to others is based on what WE think they should have rather than what they really need. Also, it's done to assuage our own consciences rather than being based on results (i.e. "our intentions are good and that's all that's important")
Sowell's book "The Vision of the Anointed" is also great and also Olasky's "The Tragedy of American Compassion".

but, like I said,
most sheeperal DON’T WANT TO KNOW
that the policies they advocate actually hurt people.
