His real crime was not sharing his ill gotten gains with his cronies
By hogging the trough, the man got himself done in
>> His real crime was &etc
I won’t presume to know exactly what he did that got him into trouble.
But, you’re right; a powerful pol like Silver doesn’t get pinched unless he upsets the “flow”(whatever that may be) of the “syndicate” (whoever they are).
In any case, it’s not about righteous justice so we little people needn’t get our hopes up.
Yes, in fact, he is a Democrat — somehow that information never made it into the article. No bias intended, I’m sure.
He will be replaced by a different crook.
So glad I left.
Look again.
Identified as a democrat in the third paragraph. Amazing. (Don’t they usually wait until the third page?)
Couldn’t happen to a nicer scumbag. FUSS.
Lock the mofo up.
Cuomo next please.
Me too, I grew up NYC and moving was the best thing I ever did. It is the worst of the worst when it comes to liberals, and I moved just in time because now they got a hardcore blatant commie as Mayor who supports crime and terrorism. New York and New Jersey Democrats are constantly busted for corruption in those two states and the people just keep electing in new Democrats and the process repeats over and over and over. They busted an illegal who was elected as a rep there last year if you can believe it. An ILLEGAL who was not only elected but who committed massive credit card fraud. And get this: After she does her time in jail which I believe was 2 years, they are LETTING HER STAY IN THE COUNTRY! WHAT the F??
Joe Bruno’s revenge.

Wouldn’t happen to be the same lengthy investigation that they tried to stonewall and stop via Andrew Cuomo, would it?
It probably is. But here’s the catch: Silver and his lawyer can just claim “selective prosecution” and they’d be right. Although this is a righteous bust, if we applied this law evenly we’d have to lock up 95% of current pols. (Not that that’s a bad thing.)
Funny thing is, it’s the exact same thing they nailed Joe Bruno on.
Didn’t catch this earlier but here’s the indictment(reading it now)https://www.scribd.com/embeds/253412715/content?start_page=1&view_mode=scroll&show_recommendations=true
