Governor Sarah Palin issued a strong response to Barack Obamas State of the Union speech:
Despite all the happy talk and rainbow kisses in his second to last State of the Union address, President Obama has utterly failed middle class Americans who are making less and spending more to survive in his economy. And he has no real plan to help them.
Im no special pleader for the super rich. They can take care of themselves, and Barack Obama has been the friend of every crony capitalist on Wall Street attending his $30,000-a-plate fundraisers. So, its really galling to hear this President pretend to care about the little guy.
Lets be honest. Tinkering in the margins of the tax code isn't going to bring lasting prosperity to Americas middle class. Our tax code needs major reform. Mr. President, if you truly seek equality in the tax code, then lets talk about a flat tax. Lets get rid of all the loop holes carved out by the wealthy and politically connected. Bring us together to pass sensible flat tax legislation. Every American will thank you on tax day! The only people who will hate this are those who are benefiting from the current convoluted tax code with its thousands of special interest exemptions and carve-outs. Enough of this faux-populism about taxing the rich while protecting the broken tax code that benefits them. Mr. President, if you truly care about equality and fairness, give us a sensible flat tax.
The tax code isn't the only thing standing in the way of prosperity in America. The middle class needs good paying jobs that can sustain a family. No American should be stuck in a entry level minimum wage job for their entire life. We want Americans to climb the economic ladder, not get stuck on the first rung. To create those good paying jobs, we need to address the problems standing in the way of job creation. We need to replace job-killing legislation like Obamacare, which has failed on every level by making health care more expensive for average Americans while providing them with less choices and worse care. We need to consider the consequences of policies like the 1,200 new regulations the Obama administration rammed through last month in the 15 days right before the new year regulations that will cost the American taxpayer $181 billion in new fees and further stymie job growth. Ask yourself, is it easier today under Barack Obamas policies to open a business and hire people or is it harder? Nuff said.
Nothing was said tonight about our staggering $18 trillion national debt, which increased by $7.5 trillion under Obama. Our debt is a ticking time bomb, but for the permanent political class in DC that ticking sound is just ambient noise to lull yourself to sleep. Some of us would like to address the debt before it blows up in our faces. Thats what responsible leaders do. They dont glibly make promises for more free goodies they know we cant afford to keep.
I have little hope that well see honest leadership from the White House. Nothing in tonights speech indicates that the Obama administration will stop hurting the middle class with its failed policies. (And it was just a bit much to listen to the most polarizing partisan president of our lifetime who rammed through his signature legislation without any input from the GOP lecture us about working together now that the GOP controls Congress. Your actions speak so much louder than your words, Mr. President.)
We need to look for new leadership in Congress to put forward a positive agenda of prosperity for every American. Hang in there, America. Real hope for change is just around the corner in 2016.
- Sarah Palin
PS Theres no need to comment on foreign policy tonight because President Obama essentially didnt comment on it either. Hes so far over his head with what seems like personal confusion on who the bad guys are and who the good guys are. His foreign policy is so obviously a colossal and dangerous failure that I guess theres no need to spell it out for everyone. Just watch the news. Its unraveling daily.
Real hope for change is just around the corner in 2016.From where?
Run Sarah, run!!!
“We need to look for new leadership in Congress ... prosperity ... “ etc.
Sorry Sarah, but so far the new kids haven’t been inspiring much confidence, for ex., talking the other night about “working with Democrats.”
Less talk!
A lot of Americans are wondering how to pay the penalty for being unable to afford Affordable health care.
So maybe the Grand Old Party hasn’t noticed, but the Party of the People has been kicking our butts these past six years.
The congressional cavalry is coming? For some reason the old line, “Then hold one hand out in front of you and cup the other behind you, and wish, and see which gets filled fastest.” comes to mind.
More action!
Just look for it
I stand with Ted
Hey! Cruz! Take notes.
Someone needs to point out to 0bama and his Progressive cronies that first time employees usually have to do some jumping to catch that first rung in the first place. When you artificially raise entry level wages then fewer people can make that first jump and never do get on the ladder.
I need a little Sarah to help me forget about Joni Ernst.
I thought the debt went from $4 trillion to $18 trillion under Obama.
Sarah said the debt increased by $7.5 trillion under Obama....I thought it increased by $14 trillion.....and counting.
This is the speech Joni Ernst should have given.
If Republicans were serious they’d hire Sara Palin as their advisor and speech writer.
Ping.
One thing that really burns me is that in 1983 (Reagan Admin.) Republicans and Democrats agreed to start taxing Social Security benefits. (Where was Norquist then?) A complicated formula was devised to determine how much tax should be paid. It included a deduction of $25,000 for singles, and $32,000 for couples. It has not been increased for 32 years. With inflation it should now be more than double. Ten years after retiring I now pay taxes on almost all my modest SS payment. Also the one-time-death-benefit begun in 1957 at $255 is still at $255. It should now, inflation adjusted, be over $2,000 and would just pay for a bare bones cremation.
“If Republicans were serious theyd hire Sara Palin as their advisor and speech writer.”
And Sarah would take the second fiddle role why?
“If Republicans were serious theyd hire Sara Palin as their advisor and speech writer.”
If Republicans actually existed anymore they wouldn’t just want her as a speech writer, they’d be supporting her and patriots like her with everything they had, every day - with money, action and stubborn conviction - instead of playing spin-the-bottle with the dems non-stop only to end up looking like hungover, dull-witted, ravaged sl*ts all the time.
Question: Is America far too corrupt to vote for a Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin?..
AND if it’s NOT that corrupt would we actually know one way or the other.. with all the voter fraud.?.....
AND voter fraud is so bad in many places it is laughable..
I mean..... more voters voting than in the district?.. dead voting with no outrage?.. multiple votes?..
-OR- even 100% or 90%.. even 50% in some places is unheard of..
A few places value an actual vote.. less every year.. NOT MORE....
Highly democrat areas have been manipulated for many decades..
And marginally democrat areas are always suspect..
Over the last 50 years that I have noticed.. most all republicans do not want to even think about voter fraud..
ELSE:................. THEY WOULD SOMETHING ABOUT IT!...
So far ZIP!.. IF there was cause for REVOLT! <-— this is..
The Communists have taken over without a shot. What remains is when they force us to play our hand, and the slaughter that will ensue.
Joni should have sat this one out since they didn't let her say anything we haven't heard over and over and over anyway.
