The Dodge had a bad start and was trying to restart. What was the time fer the e-car?
How much is the Tesla?
Before the race, did the jockey of the Tesla stick some cubes of sugar into the other guys tank?
The Hemi driver lost it on the starting line. However there is no mention in the article of the elapsed time in the quarter mile for both vehicles. I used to work at a local drag strip and saw production cars from the early 1970s routinely run sub 11 second elapsed times in the quarter mile. I would like to see the Tesla take on a real muscle car with a competent driver.
Totally bogus “race”. The Hellcat runs at least an 11 second quarter mile.
Your liberal propaganda for electric vehicles is well known and total bullshit. It they were so viable they wouldn’t need taxpayer money to be produced and you wouldn’t need to post such obvious crap as this.
You really should stop lying to people, liberal.
Horse Pucky
I prefer not to be a Luddite and embrace the new electric car technology.
You know, it is possible to be a Conservative and look ahead to a time when we won’t need gasoline for our vehicles.
Gas muscle cars aren’t dead. Yeah, electric cars are hot off the line they’ve got lots of torque. Also, the Dodge jumped the lights, stopped, then started again after the Tesla had already left the line. I’d like to see a rematch.
Sorry, hearing a 700+ horse hemi crank up or a Tesla whizzing along, I’ll take the hemi. Visceral thing. Which one’s gonna cost more to get fixed I wonder.
Almost looked like "the fix" was in because it was so bad.
You don't come off the power at the line.
Oh please, the hemi blew the start.
I wish I have the money to afford to buy this car. Can’t wait til Model 3. I’m saving up for that
What propagates faster and can be better controlled/contained, chemical combustion or a rotating magnetic field? No transmission is the icing on the cake. The physics dictate that electrics are the future.
Put a driver in the Challenger. This guy went 3 seconds red
and then blew off his tires.
That Dodge had to have one of the worst drag race drivers in history. Note the amateurish start. The Tesla driver knew how to do it.
the japanese super electric beat the super toyata as well some years back
The Hellcat is certified by the NHRA with a 10.80 ET with slicks and 11.20 ET with street tires. Trap speeds over 120 MPH.
That's the NHRA, not the greenfizzeeweeneecarreport, the NHRA.
No believe, CLICK.
I wonder what the Tesla would sound like with a pair of glasspack mufflers.
