In an appearance on Mondays broadcast of CNN Tonight, host Don Lemon asked former Navy SEAL Cade Courtley, president of SEALsurvival.com, to react to last weekends box office hit American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper.
Courtley reacted favorably to the film, explaining that in his view it was a responsibility that filmmaker Clint Eastwood took seriously.
Look, any time Hollywood takes on something of this nature, I always sort of cringe because I dont know what the outcome is going to be, Courtley said. So, I went and saw this movie last Thursday with a couple of vets. We all came out of there just quiet. We really didnt say a word.

That is exactly the way I feel.
He ate his way to the bottom.
Michael Moore only had a career because he pandered to left wing political interests.
Well now pushing Michael Moore aside is the new fake baby controversy that has broken out. Anything to trash the movie. I guess the baby actor got sick so Clint Eastwood used a mechanical baby in the movie.
This movie exposes the public to the real horrors of war and what our defenders are put through mentally.
It is a deeply moving and often disturbing movie, and is closer to reality than we are programmed to be comfortable with.
That is it’s power, and that is why the ‘left’ doesn’t like it.
Michael Moore. A Has-been who never was.
Courtley should have given the impression that he didn’t know who Moore is:
“Michael...who?”
“Moore. He said...”
“But who is he? Is he a SEAL, too? Was he over in Iraq or Afghanistan or something? Is he...”
“He’s another film maker who said...”
“Oh. Yeah, there are a lot of those these days who say stuff. I don’t recognize his name, sorry. A lot of the guys I work with have been busy with our own projects. I really can’t speak to what he’s said or done, because I’m not familiar with him. I’ve never heard of him before.”
Beached whale....
It's not a HOLLYWOOD film
It's a Clint Eastwood film.
Hollywood hates Clint and Clint returns the favor. He's lived and worked well away from Hollywood his whole career. He's had to fight them all the way - but he's won - and they gnash their teeth.
With this new triumph - he's not only blown the doors off with his movie - it's also about the military.
Hollywood and the rest of the Dark Side are beside themselves.
gotta love it.
The director's commentary on Breaking Bad is funny when they describe when they are using an actual baby or a doll. They tried to avoid using the baby unless they are actually filming it in action. Even in one scene they will splice together shots with the real and the fake baby depending on the camera angle.
I saw this “baby” controversy too..talk about desperate..news flash...all the sniper kills were fake too!!..its a movie!!!..lol. No, they are boiling mad because this movie completely stole the big “Selma” thunder...for the MLK holiday...no one went and saw it....gotta love it.
This just keeps getting better than ever.
Fake baby?
I guess I noticed that. It crossed my mind that it was good they weren’t bugging some poor, real infant who wanted nothing but to be with his mom
Anyone who cares or says they care needs to get a real life. At least the baby has an excuse
Hoo F*****n’ Rah!
Smells like somethin' died.
“Smells like somethin’ died. “
Past time to flush!
Mi familia...
Yeah, I hate to break it to this Navy SEAL but the guy’s career was already over.
Moore is no longer relevant—and was no longer relevant when he spewed out that obnoxious tweet.
What we’re seeing with Moore is a last grasp at the straw for attention.
