But the consumption of pornography in Islamic countries has seemingly flown under the radar, with the Islamic community leaders either unaware of, or turning a blind eye to the issue.

"under the radar" is a keyword vis a vis the West. What I despise is they accuse the West of being decadent and immoral because of being blunt, and claim if a woman wears the veil, she is supposed to be 'modest'. Reality is these things happen in the muslim world under a veil (or under the radar) - that's typical.

Are Islamic leaders unaware in those countries? A few maybe, most aren't. Several yrs ago I read an account where a religious leader in Iran was demanding that 'the girls' pray naked in front of him, but of course in private.

Think about it.. a religion that manipulates & exploits sexual desires of men in particular and reinforces them by promising 72 virgins in paradise, dictates that women need to cover themselves head to toe and allows polygamy, is not addicted to porn per se, it actively encourages addiction to sex.

This is interesting to me. I have had a website advice column since 2001. My website was blacked out in Saudi Arabia in 2004. They have very strong controls on their web content. It surprises me that porn gets in.
