(Reuters) - U.S. healthcare executives say Obamacare is likely here to stay, despite repeated calls from Republican lawmakers for repeal of the 2010 law aimed at providing health coverage for millions of uninsured Americans.
Top executives who gathered in San Francisco this week for the annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare conference, say that while President Obama's signature domestic policy achievement may well be tweaked, it is too entrenched to be removed.

But America, on the other hand, is going into the toilet.
So if everyone goes on Medicaid and Medicare, how will these fascist companies survive?
It is a hell of a mired up mess. If they repeal it what do they do with all the people that lost their insurance because they were forced into different plans.
So, this excrement sandwich is now settled law?
It sounds like these “healthcare executives” are cleaning up and making some BIG bucks with Barry’s CommieCare. Wait until they get to sign up the 11.6 million illegal aliens Barry just gave amnesty to. We’re in the money, We’re in the money!
Oh Really?
That $2500 extra per year I got hit with as a result is really not going to leave my memory anytime soon.
Millions more like me. And we vote.
And Atlas Shrugged, you corporate fascist oinkers! Are you saying that the Titanic must hit the Iceburg ... on purpose?
Funny how much Reuters sounds like Roto Rooter. Cause I call BS. These “healthcare executives” are no doubt Obama partisans.
It seems like all we can get rid of these days are GOOD things. Want religion to disappear? We can do that with a couple lawsuits. Want to get rid of married, two-parent families? Gone with the wind! But put in a screwy health-care law, and there is NOTHING ON EARTH that can dislodge it, even if most of it is still waiting to be implemented.
I think President Cruz would have something to say about that.
It was probably Gruber being quoted without attribution.
Ya know, us dummies gotta just take it.
well h*ll they wrote the bill to benefit themselves . . . so heck yeah they been making money no matter what, shows in the health care stocks and funds over the past 3 years.
Might depend on John Roberts . . . what they have him blackmailed with . . . the adoption of his two kids and whether he’ll vote with the Libs again.
I’m not sure why we should trust them when they say that an unconstitutional law written to enrich them and empower bureaucrats is here to stay. I’m praying that Obamacare will be overturned by Chief Justice Roberts doing his job without being blackmailed (I know, optimistic), or repealed and defunded by the Republican Congress (I know, optimistic).
I’m hoping that every medical company actively supporting Obamacare will be bankrupt within five years, and I will work hard to convince real Americans that no company is “too big to fail”. All Obamacare supporters pose a clear and present danger to freedom, and they will get no or support sympathy from me.
Of course they oppose elimimating Obamacare.
It is a goldmine for them.
Obama gave them the keys to the US treasury.
SCOTUS is going to render it flawed to the point of unsustainability
NO obamacare was entrenched for over 200 years and that got overturned, right?
“If they repeal it what do they do with all the people that lost their insurance because they were forced into different plans.”
Free market. People buy the plans that serve their needs. Actually, “insurance” as it is defined now is socialized medicine. We need real insurance which protects against the unexpected. That will also drop the price of expected treatments by getting regulation out of it. Regulation causes higher prices.
Probably not blackmail. I suspect Roberts does this willingly and rather gleefully.
They don’t want Obamacare to go anywhere. But this doesn’t mean it’s not going.
