Piss off.
I'll make fun of any and everything I care to, and use any means at my disposal to proactively defend myself against anyone who would try to shut me down- you, mullahs, pastors, atheists.
The ONLY limits to speech should be libel, slander, and the revealing of legitimately classified information. And I will be exactly as prone to use violence to defend this position as any Jihadi, crusader or officer of the law.
Do you have ANY reason to believe he DIDN’T say this?
“Gesturing towards Alberto Gasparri, a Vatican official who organises pontifical trips and who was standing next to him on board the plane, he said: If my good friend Dr Gasparri says a curse word against my mother, he can expect a punch in the nose.
Throwing a pretend punch, the Pope said: Its normal. You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others.

Pope Francie is a two-legged, walking, talking disaster for the Catholic Church.
Such for 5 urging the other cheek...This pope is not very impressive...
I think the Pope has just told me the next time someone cracks a Catholic joke I should go and belt him.
Or shoot the joke teller and anyone who might have done the same. I mean, they still have the right to free expression and all, they should just expect to be gunned down if they use it. Makes perfect sense in the worldview of a leftist Jesuit.
“Throwing a pretend punch, the Pope said: ‘Its normal. You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others.’
It’s normal? What violent reactions would he classify as normal, in addition to punching? Let him say what actions he thinks are “normal” when one is provoked. If he is maintaining that his throwing punches or engaging in other violent activity should be dismissed as “normal,” pope needs a course in anger management.
Well, the Catholic Church always wanted to shut Martin Luther up.
He and W pray to the same God.
Seriously, I lost my invitation to vote in the last pope election.
If he thinks violence is justifiable for an insult, Francis also needs a course in Christianity.
I wouldn’t blame it all on being a Latin American Jesuit...he’s also a foolish vain old man whose press-stoked ego has gotten so huge it’s about to explode. He shouldn’t be allowed out in public without a gag.
Sorry Mr Francis, “making fun” of other people’s opinions, on secular or religious matters, is an integral part of freedom of speech. From the head of the world’s religious institution with the longest history against separation of church and state, Mr Francis’ remarks are not surprising.
Yes, I am being serious and funny at the same time. To some Mr Francis may be a pope, but to me he’s just Mr Francis. Respecting someone’s religious title is reserved for those OBLIGATED by their faith to respect it, not anyone else. There, that’s freedom of speech by western standards, Mr Francis.

Ayatollah al-Fahranziz is bolting out of the progressive closet holding a meat cleaver.
Maybe he's making a run for the coming office of False Prophet. The other candidates, Joel Osteen and Rick Warren, are losing steam and he sees his opening.
Run, Frank, Run! Just don't trip over the hem of your dress.
He’s from South America and embraces social justice - meaning faith is second to the socialist agenda.
Uh, we are going from what he SAID.
Do you have ANY reason to believe the papers are misquoting the Pope? ANY?
From your link:
“We have the obligation to freely have this liberty, but without offending. It’s true that you cannot react violently. But, if Dr. Gasbarri, my great friend, says something against my mother, he can expect a punch. It’s normal. It’s normal. You cannot provoke, you cannot insult the faith of others, you cannot make fun of the faith....So many people speak against others’ religions. They make fun of them. Let’s say they “giocatalizzano” (make a playng out of) the religion of others. But they are provoking, and what can happen is what I said about Dr. Gasbarri if he says something about my mother. There is a limit. Every religion has dignity; I cannot mock a religion that respects human life and the human person. And this is a limit. I’ve used this example of the limit to say that in the freedom of expression there are limits, like the example I gave of my mother...”
