A teenager charged in connection with a Belhaven shooting is in jail without bond, court officials said.
Jackson police say three teenagers may be suspects in a recent string of armed robberies, carjackings and assaults.

A 69-year-old woman has died after being shot Wednesday evening during a robbery in Belhaven, officials said.
Two other teenagers, Antreal Jones, 18 and Jerome Moore, 17, were arrested Tuesday after a two-hour manhunt in south Jackson. They are both charged with capital murder and carjacking, police said.
The three teenagers are accused of shooting Carolyn Temple during a robbery Jan. 7 in front of her boyfriend's Belhaven home. Temple died late Monday night.

Temple's funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke's Methodist Church.
Moore's mother, Shronda Burns, said her son wasn't involved in the attack on Temple.
"My son ain't going to shoot no gun," Burns said. "Now, I'm not saying that he wouldn't rob nobody, but I know he won't shoot no gun."

That's a double negative, so it actually means that her son WILL shoot a gun.

Shronda Burns (what the hell kinda name is Shronda?) is the mother to Jerome Moore. Ya gotta love the extended family concept.
Antreal is a nice Amish name.
A coworker from Indonesia in a previous life told me that cops there would look up rap sheets on slow nights and identify the career criminals who committed most of the crimes in their towns.
Over the next few weeks, those same perps would mysteriously end up dead in weird cases of suicide, street fights and drug overdoses. Investigations followed but never seemed to turn up any links.
They have been rebranded - again.

If they would behave better, they would not need to be re-branded every decade or so.
