An admirable replacement, if you could find it, would be Eliza Action's Modern Cookery for Private Families (1845) - much more original and creative than Mrs B, who was more of a journalist than a cook. Though given your familiarity with British cultural traditions, I wouldn't be surprised if you already had it.
