Author Salman Rushdie, who lived for years under a death threat after his 1988 book The Satanic Verses drew the wrath of Iranian religious leaders, is defending the absolute right of free speech.
Rushdie made the comments Wednesday at the University of Vermont after being asked about last weeks attack by Islamic extremists on the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo that killed 12.

Say, you seem like a smart guy, Mr. Rushdie. Where does that "absolute right" come from, anyway?

Who is he to defend the right of free speech when our WH still has not determined the difference between Islam and militant Islam and our TV talking heads are still don’t know the difference?

Jeez. I tried to read this guy’s book. What a way to get famous. Salman Rushdie should have had a freakin’ fatwa on him from the literature community for being such a crappy writer.
