Ice storms are nasty business.
Just checked the radar, looks like it should miss me here on the Mi./In. border.
Help is on the way.
Ice storm in Indiana. Preppers should be ready.
That is amazing.
Be ready for road pile ups for the nutcases who won’t slow down or get off the roads.
Ice skates...need my ice skates!
Global warming????

Someone should tell weather services everywhere that there’s no reason to continue using all caps — unless they’re still using Teletype machines from the 1960’s.
You bet. We were out of power for a.week. Get a 5k generator. You can plug it into an outlet and it.will energize a house. Ice is tbe worst of all
You mean a regular wall electrical outlet or a special line connected to your circuit breaker box?
I have to say that weather warnings do make life easier today. It used to be you could get caught in ice storms with no warning at all. A 10-minute drive could take several hours, assuming you could even make it.
No. Yank your meter off or.flip the whole house breaker. It works just like a phone line. Any outlet will do. Ive been throught a couple. If you need more easy to understand tech info ill post it from my laptop not phone.
Indiana Preppers PING!!
Hat tip to rdl6989 for the heads up.
Your amp.load depends on several factors sepending.on your ext cord size and length. Your house has two separate circuits
“Global warming????”
According to Al Gore and The Eco-Freaks, warming causes cooling.
Warm globally, cool locally! LOL!
Sorry, but that’s just bad info. A 5k genset really wants to be fed to a 30A-2P breaker, which isn’t just “any old outlet”.
220?
“I’d take three feet of snow over an ice storm.”

I’m with you! Dec. 23rd, 2013 - Dec. 29th, 2013 here in Maine....six days without power, heat or water due to an ice storm.
January 1998 - also in Maine; much more widespread ice storm, 9 days without power or water; telephone out for 3 days....2 inches of ice take down trees, power lines, transformers everywhere.
The people in Indiana have my sympathy.
