It’ complicated but thanks for your interest.
I thought of getting anew hard drive...but the computer...it
s a genuine IBM. It’s heavy, bulky...I bought it used for a hundred bucks.
I reallty liked the thing but time for me to move on.
Just don’t know where to move on to.
If you are not a computer geek, I would highly recommend you pay Geek Squad to take care of yours. They do a tune-up every month by remote control if you want and check for viruses, etc.
Oh, and something else, very important!
When you get set up with your new system, set up multiple Id’s to access your computer (Pro tip from Computer guys)
Your “Owner” ID, also known as “Administrator” should be password protected with a strong password. You should not go online logged in as an Administrator!
Next, created secondary ID’s such as “guest” or “Internet”.
Very important>set controls on these secondary Id’s, especially blocking/downloading of ANY PROGRAMS.
The only pain is that if you are on line with your secondary access and want to download some security software, add/change/delete programs, etc., you have to enter your administrator password!
If you are online as an administrator, stuff can sneak in and burrow into your hard drive.
Hoping the above makes sense

Fish.. Go Apple!
Haven’t had a problem in years! Once you get used it, which does not take long, Apple is much more sensical than any Microsoft product that we ever owned in
6 years with a malfunctioning Dell with nonexistent software.
As me auld Mother used to say..”Ya get what Ya pay for!”
Beside.. Bill Gates is an Ahole!
