Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney , the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, told a meeting of donors Friday that he is considering another White House bid in 2016, people present said.
The possibility of a third Romney bid could upend the emerging GOP field, coming as top Republican donors are starting to rally behind former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Mr. Romney made the remarks during a session Friday afternoon -SNIP-

Don’t count on it. It’ll probably be me that gets it first.
You guys are really something, I notice that flaglady also got her digs in at conservatives and freerepublic.
*""Doubt he could get elected today though or voted for by some Freepers.""*
Well guys, we would love Reagan, and we do love Reagan, many of us voted for Reagan, some even served under him, we aren't talking theory, we know how we feel.
Really!!?!?!
REALLY!!!!!???
WOW!!
I'm on the wrong web site!!
“Never?
You keep trying to compare the two, keep trying to draw parallels.”
The parallel is that Ronald Reagan won on his third try as the Pub candidate for the Presidency. If Romney runs again and somehow wins the Pub primary, it will be his third time also. Anything can happen in elections, including winning on the third time, and I’m so glad Ronald Reagan won on that third try. Somehow I don’t believe Romney will actually run, but you never know. It will be interesting if he does, seeing how he and Jeb Bush will mix it up. And then there’s Chris Christy, the third major GOPe potential candidate. It really crowds up the GOPe field if all three go to bat. They might just negate each other and someone else slides in from the backfield.
zot
The way I see it, if Cruz does not win IA or NH, he will be lucky to pick off UT (6 electoral votes). Campaigns dollars are highly reliant on optics, and most campaigns spent at least 1/2 of their initial budget on the first two primaries, hoping to replenish with momentum. At that point, aside from the stubborn (a group which will definitely include Rand Paul), any candidate not in the top four will swimming against the tide.
Ted Cruz is a good man, but there is an excellent chance that he will be done by the 2nd week of February.
There is no parallel between Reagan and Romney.

As you were correctly informed over there.
You keep lying for your lying, backstabbing candidate.
This will be Romney’s FOURTH attempt to disrupt conservatives.
Rat Romney’s first was during his attack on Sen. Thompson.
See #98 above re: the rest.
No, we have it all wrong, I was specifically told so when I mentioned Romney’s record as a solid liberal.
flaglady47 so succinctly told me I was lying.
Then admitted that Romney did indeed hold the positions I mentioned.
Hmm.
Mitt couldn’t save you from that lightning bolt. See ya.
It’s her purpose here Dio. Look at her post history. Nothing but apologism for Romney and the entire GOP. Nothing but attacks on anyone that defends conservatives and conservatism.
You are more delusional that I realized if you think that was my point Ansell. As we have seen on this very thread, there are (amazingly) even some FReepers who still believe in Mitt Romney.
Well we all know that propaganda and lies are conservative values. I mean didn’t Reagan say so?
The rest of reality has been rewritten today so why not?
LOL!!
You've been outed...and will not last here.
Who writes your stuff???
Leader? Who's?
Not mine.....
Or perhaps you're not following this website's guidelines, and reading the thread before posting.
PROOF: Mitt Romney Is As Liberal As OBAMA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1fThdWagJ4
“Well guys, we would love Reagan, and we do love Reagan, many of us voted for Reagan, some even served under him, we aren’t talking theory, we know how we feel.”
You do know that Reagan instituted amnesty to illegal Mexcans, I’m sure. Would you vote for him today knowing that? He also voted for a pro abortion bill in California. Never did it again, nor would he, but he did o it once. Could you live with that?
Thus sayeth MiniTrue!
Yes, we keep getting told that, though not in those words.
