After 25 Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives embarrassed Speaker John Boehner by voting against his re-election bid, the newly re-elected Boehner has begun to exact his revenge on those that opposed him.
According to a Politico source, conservative House members Daniel Webster and Rich Nugent, both from Florida, will lose their spots on the highly coveted House Rules Committee.

Yep
It’s a lesser evil. Hey BTW, I know this site we can promote liberal republicans and lesser evil on! We should do that and be popular!
Nah....I’m just not fashionable : )
"We need to get to the bottom of the guys who voted against [procedural motions], and we need to understand why they voted against that, and then we need to know why people voted against the speaker yesterday. Name calling saying 'RINO' and 'establishment' that's name calling. We need to understand why they voted the way they did."Nunes is also trying to pass a resolution preventing anyone who voted against Boner from chairing a subcommittee.
This is un-American. Nunes has got to go.
“THIS IS JUVENILE AND PETTY. TIME TO GROW UP ..!!!!!”
Time to make them. They have gotten a free pass so far. They know republicans will vote (R) to matter what.
Obviously I had you pegged wrong. You arent of the body...
Don’t worry. An army of conservatives PROMISED to hold their feet to the fire once we elected the lesser evil. I’m sure they are massing over the hill keeping their powder dry. But soon...soon...
Domestic enemies of the Constitution try to throw back American Patriot bridgehead.
Maybe that’s what some people thought. But you don’t stop the establishment by giving it a new set of people to push around.
Unfortunately for a 3rd party unless they can actually get around 20% of the seats they’re just more people to get pushed around. The rules of congress are very carefully constructed to divide the chamber into the majority party and the minority party and anybody else is just out of luck. If they can put together a big enough block to actually start effecting the passage of legislation, then they got something, but without that they’re just audience sitting on stage.
“He knows without the GOPe, Cruz has no hope”
As a logical corollary, without conservatives the GOP has no future.
The American people are in this for the long haul. Candidates come and go.
If the GOP is saying, “As Republicrats (demlite), we can ‘out Herod Herod’.” ...
we’ll, we average Americans: conservatives certainly, and the working, taxpaying middle—who have had their ration of ‘hope and change’ over the last seven years—we’re thinking,
‘Gee, we thought we made it very clear first week in November ...”.
Like our pachyderm symbol, Republicans in name and deed have long memories. We didn’t give them carte blanche.
We’re watching them closely, and so far, unfortunately, there have been no surprises or leadership bursts from the speaker—just more of his “Can’t we all just get along, and can’t you loudmouth cons shut the H*** up?” BS.
For their sakes let’s hope the GOP rank-and-file do better in the months ahead and into fall of 2016.
Because the 2 parties are unfixable and unwork-with-able, this is where the anarchists have it right. You help the corruption eat itself and take the pain, or condemn your kids to worse.
Devin Nunes has been a real disappointment. He’s been totally co-opted by the amnesty pimping RINO establishment.
What’s scary is he’s in line to occupy the oval office if something happened to the two clowns ahead of him.
Over the past 25-30 years (post Reagan years) the GOPe has systematically purged conservatives from the party. At the same time, they kept up that the insipid mantra “you must vote Republican, or the left will take over”. Sadly, too many republicans went with the lesser of 2 evils, until at last, all we have left is evil.
I voted for GHWBush because the alternative was a Marxist. That was the last POTUS I voted for. Bush immediately set about dismantling everything Reagan had done, or stood for. I have voted for a number of conservative Republicans at the local level though.
This is where it would have been nice if they’d actually succeeded in outlawing political parties. In the end political parties want power, the ideology is there to serve the acquisition of power and nothing else. Which is why they’re so good at agreeing on things that impede 3rd parties and internal rebellions.
And that/this guy in a nutshell is the very reason the entire lesser evil meme, ‘Practicality” or any other euphamism for it is so utterly dangerous to America/the constitutional system of government.
The more ‘impure’ candidate you start with, the easier they will corrupt. It’s simple logic 101 and the reason I push this so hard. And why it has to stop.
“Over the past 25-30 years (post Reagan years) the GOPe has systematically purged conservatives from the party. “
But this time will be different. He really loves me. I just make him mad sometimes. I have to think of the children.
” The more impure candidate you start with, the easier they will corrupt.”
If I could just remember who wrote this. That guy was pretty sharp......
John Boehner is apparently vying against Barack Obama for the title of “Most Hated Man in America”. I’m thinking that he’s closing in fast.
Nope. He was probably some purist and we all know how wrong they are about everything. We read it here daily.
