After 25 Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives embarrassed Speaker John Boehner by voting against his re-election bid, the newly re-elected Boehner has begun to exact his revenge on those that opposed him.
According to a Politico source, conservative House members Daniel Webster and Rich Nugent, both from Florida, will lose their spots on the highly coveted House Rules Committee.

Go ahead. The people that care already know it and the ones that don’t buy the line about him being the next Jessie Helms now making the rounds in the MSM.
So what good does it do?
Well it relieves our anger a bit so we don’t use that anger for something more constructive.
He’s on the other team.
Ah, heaven forbid we don’t have some laugh at his expense. Better we work up a good self destructive rage eh? It isn’t even about other people, dude. It’s about his ego.
Her answer was ... "He does wonderful things for our district."
And so it goes with those who refuse to think.
Boehner: So weak that mere words are devastatingly injurious to him.
He is just following Obama’s example.
Obama is punishing everyone who Voted against him and his Party on a daily basis. He is even punishing the people who Voted for him, but they have no idea he is doing it.
Remember Valerie Jarrett’s quote about punishing those who didn’t support Obama?
That’s always the problem with attempting a coupe, failure only has one price.
This is Boehner showing us he isn’t soft and squishy by going after his real political enemies. ...But we already knew he can fight conservatives.
Thank you for bringing this point up so often. Last election, i was also called stupid, purist, something about perfect being the enemy of good, etc.
On another thread a poster asked me if Cruz voted for McConnell. Oddly, I had listened to a Glen Beck clip where the Rep. from Utah, asked Glen the same thing about Mike Le. Evidently, this is the new establishment talking point.
It’s his party - let him do what he wants with it. We’ll be elsewhere...
The coup attempt bruised his ego. So it was useful.
Nettle him. He will be called squish until he begins acting unsquishy.
Yup. Boehner’s no squish. He’s an outright traitor.
Have you ever been around rich and powerful people? I mean ones with 8 and up figure net worth? I have. And not for 2 min. I mean regularly.
Can you guess how what you or I or the average person says effects their ego? Much like microscopic life on another planet effects their daily considerations.
Not at all.
In his case there were even lesser lesser evils available so that is pretty lame as an excuse for keeping the Boner in that post.
Get enough of them talking and it will be affected. It has been true ever since bible times. Are you going to keep on singing that squishy song, squishy Norm?
Are you going to pick another losing fight and derail yet another thread because I upset you?
Losing... project much?
Boehner is virtually guaranteeing that the most radical strain of Democrats will be running the country after 2016.
Nobody is going to haul themselves off the couch to go and vote for a Republican after this.
Certainly with the rest of the GOP singing oh woe and doom they can’t even shame a squish!
That’s not useful. Now he gets to crush the careers of those who votes against him. They’re finding themselves out of committees, they’ll soon find they can’t get any legislation sponsored and they will not be invited to cosponsor. And 1 year from now they’ll find themselves opposed in the primaries by people with surprisingly deep pockets and thick rolodexes.
Congress is specifically setup to run like an old boy network. He’s not nettled, he’s empowered. By crushing these guys he gets to show others the price of rebellion. He just gained more ability to make the party vote as a block. It was a good attempt, they almost pulled it off, but they didn’t. And now the emperor is stronger and his opponents are weaker.
