Funny that so many people didn’t understand how truly ground breaking the original Star Trek was. I don’t that Gene Rodenberry even fully grasped its cultural significance at the time. Obviously, the original cast members didn’t.
He just wanted to make a buck. His successors then went full agenda. His “Wagon Train to the stars” became “The liberal Guide to puppies and Skittles.’
