Financial Times' Editor Calls Charlie Hebdo 'Stupid,' Accuses Paper Of 'Muslim Baiting'
The Huffington Post ^ | 01/07/2015 | By Ryan Grenoble

"Charlie Hebdo has a long record of mocking, baiting and needling French Muslims," Barber writes, pointing a finger at the paper for inciting the violence. "France is the land of Voltaire, but too often editorial foolishness has prevailed at Charlie Hebdo."

He continued:

This is not in the slightest to condone the murderers, who must be caught and punished, or to suggest that freedom of expression should not extend to satirical portrayals of religion. It is merely to say that some common sense would be useful at publications such as Charlie Hebdo, and Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten, which purport to strike a blow for freedom when they provoke Muslims, but are actually just being stupid.

The column has already accrued more than 500 comments at Financial Times, many of them critical and unforgiving.

"This article is appalling in its insensitivity to those who were killed and injured in today's horrific and totally unjustifiable attack," reads one comment. "Although the author states that he does not condone the murders, he is, by writing that the staff at the magazine lacked common-sense, insinuating that the victims brought this on themselves. Shocking and shameful."

Another describes the piece as "indescribably tasteless," both due to its content, and the fact that Foreign Times published it "as people lie bleeding in hospital, and as they carry the bodybags across Paris."

Sounds good - but Charlie was so revered in France it does not appear they felt punished in fact from the accolades these last two days, just the opposite.

Then in that case, the people have spoken and the Muslims just need to go to another country where their so-called Prophet is more respected.

Exactly, the Islamists are trying to intimidate us into compliance with an element of Sharia out of fear of their violence and murders. Terrorism and riots are vehicles of intimidation. The focus should be on Islam, not on limiting freedom.

Makes me wonder what sort if history ignorant imbeciles work at "Financial Times," if they are still unaware that islam is at permanent war with the rest of the world.

The delusion that "tolerance" will postpone their being killed last is absurd.

SKY news had a muzzie apologist on today who tried to spin the whole Hebdo cartoon thing as racism.

ISLAM DELENDA EST) (Islam must be destroyed)

Actually, that reads:

Islam is (has been) destroyed.

To change the syntax to "must be" destroyed, I will have to consult my years of high school Latin books, unused for decades...

But I will be back...

There is an article I’ve read that is critical of the syntax. But that is how “CARTAGO DELENDA EST” is usually rendered. (There is no lower case in classical Latin either.)

And Cato the Elder never used those exact words. But it will do.

Yeah, I’ve seen some of their cartoons that I would not agree with but they do have the right to make and publish them in a world where we have freedom. Basically, it is an equal opportunity humor magazine,
