The GOP Embraces its Suck (brilliant article from beginning to end!)

In human relationships it’s referred to as the “nine stages of grief.” In politics, it’s referred to as the five stages of suckitude.

Stage 1: Do the right thing when it’s easy and doesn’t count, so then when you don’t have the courage to do it later when it does count, you can claim you still did.

Stage 2: Go silent right before you’re about turn on your base and break your word to pretend as if you’re really agonizing over your sellout. See, if you’re really agonizing over something you’ll listen to voices of differing perspectives on the matter. But once your inner circle becomes your own echo chamber, you’re no longer agonizing

Stage 3: After the sellout you pretended to agonize over, do not do media interviews or constituent appearances that might force you to have to defend the indefensible for at least several days. Thus, giving the system time to contrive another faux controversy to feed the idiocracy.

Stage 4: Instead, put out a statement claiming that “it was a tough call,” and “there were no real good choices here.” You’re the highly-paid victim who can vote himself a pay raise and a subsidized pension after all.

Stage 5: When stages 1-4 fail, attach a legislative fig leaf to cover your shameful nakedness, which appeases the huddled masses your consultants convinced you are really stupid (sometimes these people are more respectfully referred to as “constituents”). Otherwise known as some uber-principled piece of legislation that you know has no chance of going anywhere, but allows your sycophants to deride those you betrayed and lied to as “purists” and “troublemakers” for being offended at your offense.

If there ever was a time in modern history to absolutely destroy or seriously cut the Democrats off at the knees this is it.

Instead we have an opposition party run totally by corporate lobbyists killing themselves to implement and enable the policies of their so-called opposition.

The average middle class citizen has totally lost representation in the federal government.

It is now an utterly corrupt cabal of thieves for sale to the highest bidder.

If we (conservatives) don't do something to stop the madness, we're just as bad as the politicians who won't stand against the establishment or worse, part of it. We have to find another party we back and escape the prison we are in. We are letting them ruin our kids and grandkids future and believing the lies of the lessor of two evils. Anyone who tells us it will be worse under the democrats will be proved liars. Boehner and Mcconnell is giving obama everything and pretending outrage. So many of us don't vote because of we know what both parties are doing. We need that third party. I personally like The Conservative Party. We also must move in unison to the same party or we won't make an impact. Most important we need a passionate, well spoken and well informed leader. Someone who will explain to the public what both parties are doing, specifically. Yes, they will be demonized...nothing new for us. We need TRUE hope of fixing what the leftist in this country has destroyed. We have to try. At least we are fighting a political war and not a war where blood and lives will be lost. At least not yet. If our forefathers were willing to put their lives on the line, can't we at least be courageous and try something new?

The GOP opposes the Democrats in much the same way that a Heel opposes a Face in professional wrestling. Lots of talk, lots of showmanship, they really do hit each other, and sometimes people do get hurt, but the moves are mostly planned ahead of time. The fans think it’s real, the commentators favor one side, know it’s fake, and act surprised all the time. The only difference is that I don’t think the outcome is predetermined. Sometimes I wonder.

This is so beautiful because our little RINO rep Rob Woodall here in GA put up a video of him on the Capital steps getting ready to submit the Fair Tax bill for the 400th time. I just laughed it was so pathetic.

While Boehner plays footsie with Nancy P his own state got regulations dropped on them to the tune of 3.4 Billion$, see

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jan/6/obama-rules-cost-1815b-2014-report/

Now a good Ohio Freeper that is working to take out Johnnie B could use this to start damaging him - by emailing their groups and tying Boehner to Obama’s regulatory nightmare right there on his home turf. Work from the bottom up that chain to start slapping Boehner now.

“...What they’re pissed about is that we removed Cantor, their speaker-to-be, and after Tuesday, McCarthy WILL NOT be acceptable, and Scalise is done.

A conservative speaker will be next, as moderate a conservative as they can find.”

Precisely. We need to continue the battle as we continue to make progress. 2016 will be a VERY big year across the board. It’s unfortunate that some of the “summer soldiers” and DEFEATISTS in our ranks seem ready to give up, walk away from the fight and surrender the field to the ‘RATS, RINOs and FAUX conservatives.

Yes, but then they’ll vote democrat and insurance for congressmen and senators will get even better.

I'm proud to say my Congressman (Mark Meadows) voted the right way even though the pressure from the Washington GOP establishment must have been fierce. He is a courageous man and he will continue to have my physical and financial support.

The rest of the "conservatives" who voted for Boehner? If they are smart they will get ready for a primary challenger.

Every 2, and mostly 4, years it’s a ‘BIG battle’. Then it’s SSDD while the voters sleep in-between, dreaming of making ‘some’ major change(s), while gov’t continues to whittle away the last of our Rights, Freedom and Liberty as fast as they can.

The only time I can see any shinola hitting the fan is when they finally come after the 401K/ROTH (those boomers are retiring faster and faster these days, and the kids [and I don’t blame ‘em] are going to get sick and tired of propping up the grand-parents vacations while they look for what jobs are still available....

Otherwise, continue to peacefully dream.

Thanks. Sorry for the late reply. I am here a lot but do not always log in.

Re my tag line, “Orthodox Americanism: It’s what’s good for the world! (Not communofascism!)”

“Orthodox Americanism” is my term for what I believe.

??? “Conservative” — not good enough for us — so wishy washy — government by Fox News.

??? “Republican” — nah, especially lately — except for a few greats like Ted Cruz, but even he in a way is newish to me, and still has some things to prove.

??? “Libertarian” I like, if they mean what I mean, but often they do not mean what I mean, and they sure have a lot of canned idealistic (unworkable) arguments about it — not good enough.

Pretty much all the rest are COMMUNOFASCISTS or are on slippery slopes (even the “nice people”), relentless downward paths leading to communofascism. In the 20th century governments (which are supposed to protect us) killed 260 million people — and that does not even count all the babies aborted by government abdication or endorsement. Democide.

Orthodox Americans have open eyes and KNOW about our FALLEN WORLD, with government being one of God’s blessings for controlling the chaos of the fall and preventing the strong from controlling all. And we know how even governments are quickly imperfect that they must be controlled lest we get LEVERAGED chaos and darkness and mass murder and on and on and on.

The GENIUS of Our American Revolution is largely this: the control of government. (By the way, it’s not “democracy” for those of you in Loma Linda (it’s an expression, just saying’, if you live there take it as a compliment that we think you are cuter than the average American...)

We Orthodox Americans know that the principles we think best only work for a moral people. We built America on TOP of that. We have to preserve the underlying principles also. If those underlying principles do not follow God’s principles then they are blind. Both are necessary.

So Orthodox Americanism refers to BOTH:

(1) the ROCK of America, our joint understanding and acceptance of basic orthodox “mere” Christianity (which in America united Puritans and Catholics and Presbyterians and Baptists and all Christians, plus a great love for ALL other peaceful people still searching); PLUS ...

(2) our bedrock desire to LIMIT GOVERNMENT as much as practical given the fallen nature of the world and people in general. We limited government with our Declaration and Constitution and all the other principles we embedded in our government, knowing that any attempt to “fundamentally transform” those principles would lead right back to evil, and would be TREASON. That was our DNA. It also has grown into our “maternal RNA” and other deep and secret places, and we Orthodox Americans are thus a lot stronger than it appears to those who can only see the frostings.

So be it. Orthodox Americanism! I do NOT seek that the world be safe for “democracy.” (Democracy is the opposite of safe.) I want to spread Orthodox Americanism to all. We will have to reclaim it here in its birthplace first, unfortunately.

So...again I say, “Orthodox Americanism: It’s what’s good for the world! (Not communofascism!)”

All may use my tagline at will, and GodSpeed with it.
