Tuesday wasnt Curt Schillings day to be elected to baseballs Hall of Fame and the Boston Red Sox former great believes his politics are one reason he fell short of the necessary number of votes.
Schillings former teammate, Pedro Martinez, was elected, along with Randy Johnson, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio. Although he and Smoltz have similar stats, Schilling fell 240 votes short.

Intersesting. He states exactly the opposite position that uou say he claimed ... you must hsve read wrong.
The article says that Smoltz campaiged for Georgia Republicans and I have cited documentiob that shows Biggio is a Republican.
If I were Curt, I would worry about that wasted $115 million.

“I dont think that it kept me out or anything like that,”

When human beings do something, anything, theres bias and prejudice, Schilling said. Listen, nine percent of the voters did not vote for Pedro. Theres something wrong with the process and some of the people in the process when that happens.
Schilling will get into the HoF one day, but for now he is being penalized for being an absolute a hole.
At least that is what people that have played with him or worked in the baseball organizations he was with have said.
That is my guess as well...Maybe many reporters found Schilling difficult to deal with...Nolan Ryan is in HOF. He is close to former Prez G.W. Bush. But, Ryan still got in.
I think Schilling was a very good pitcher. But, I do not think his political inclinations had anything to do with the snub.
