Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, shocked some conservatives Tuesday when the first vote she cast as a new congresswoman was to keep Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, as House speaker.
Twitter erupted, with several people claiming to be in her district saying they had lost faith in their previous hero, and that she had shown her true self. Remember, this was not a vote on legislation, it was a vote for the speaker of the House.
Love, in an email to the Washington Examiner, provided some insight into why she chose to keep Boehner as GOP leader.
“There were no qualified or notable campaigns for speaker within the Republican Party other than John Boehner,” Love said. “Casting a vote for a candidate who has not actively campaigned and does not have the support to be speaker is an indirect vote for Nancy Pelosi, and I will not vote for Nancy Pelosi.”
Love also reminded voters that she is playing the long game when it comes to fighting for conservative principles.
“There will be a time and a place for me to stand as a lone voice of dissension, but the vote for the speaker, is not that place,” Love said. “For me to be an effective congressman over the next two years it is important for me to be on the side of the elected speaker.”
There were a small number who voted against Boehner. We need more Conservatives in Congress than we have now.
The people who say Mia Love is a great conservative know 3 things:
1. She’s black
2. She’s not liberal
3. She’s not as liberal as her primary opponent.
Mike Lee is the exception in Utah when you have had big time RINOs Huntsman, Hatch, Bennett, Chris Cannon, Stewart and Chaffetz.
She’s also taking a shot at Louie Gohmert’s intelligence because he has a bald head and Texas accent. Same with Yoho with his bald head and being from north Florida. Gohmert is a former judge and Yoho is a large animal vet.

is true? Then how come no one said that immediately when that happened. How come this is the ONLY source I have seen.
For the record, it's time to push for a Recall in John Boehner district. Conservatives may have to cross over to throw that worthless drunk out of office.
How hard is this to understand? If someone else had stood up for the Speaker position, solicited votes and support for the position, there would have been some valid opposition for the position. No one did. So there.
This is all noise. And I still despise Boehner.
I dont have a problem with Mormons but for whatever reason the ones that get elected or promoted are all RINOs except Lee.

Appears to be a sound argument....Texan Louis Gohmert seem to have little momentum, probably should have made his move earlier...Mia Love had a good point.

Yep, we are fighting Boehner first and foremost. With him standing in our way, we will continue to lose.

There were No Qualified candidates to run for Speaker of the House.Since when is John Boehner qualified to run a dog house?
The one thing he has shown to be qualified to do is allow the dictator to do as he pleases.Injuring the prospects for hundreds of millions of people in the price was.
Mia Love should have thought twice before she made that vote.
There wasn’t a chance of Pelosi being nominated. 20 Pubs would’ve had to of voted for her.
What WOULD have happened ~ with just one more “against” vote, is that it would go to a second vote. The chances of more Cheeto defectors (potentially) increases, then. Worse case...Cheeto would still be voted....but, not Pelousy. And an even bigger message would’ve been sent...or, he would’ve lost. We’ll never know. With Daniel Webster running, things could’ve changed, quick.

And, up until a couple of days before the vote, who had said they would stand for the Speakership?? I thought Trey Gowdy would be good at it, but he said ‘NO’. We really need to stop the circular firing squad.

Both you and Mia should have studied the issue more closely. There was no chance of Pelosi becoming speaker agiain and anyone making that claim is either lying or ignorant of the issue/process. In your case, you are a busy American living life, so you have an excuse to not be completely up to speed. In Mia’s case, that is what she was precisely elected to know!
Her purposeful ignorance is very telling on this issue!
