Agree. She will have to live with that now. I am surprised they didn’t kill her and her daughter, too.
They probably did not want to “go loud” until they had slipped inside and upstairs to the editorial office. Any shots at the door on the street would have ruined the sneak attack. Many more doors would have locked inside, police would have come, etc. They had five minutes inside. Getting inside quietly was a critical part of their plan.
She allowed it.
Perhaps they had such good target information that they knew that at that time, she comes back to the office with her kid and puts in the code to open the door.
If so, very good target analysis, very good (evil) plan.
The terrorists probably didn’t want to get slowed down by killing the receptionist, because they wanted to get two targets in particular, the cartoonist and the editor, and they needed to identify them. They killed them both and then shot all the other people, including the police outside. The woman and her daughter were hiding under a desk at that point and they probably couldn’t see them and didn’t want to take the time to look for them, because they weren’t important.
Probably in their haste, didn’t realize she was with the magazine. There were other offices the muslims went into asking where the Charlie offices were.
Hope she plans to move and find another job out of the country. She'll be on their next hit list...kid or not.
There's a reason why, historically, muslim conquerers killed the men and took the women as concubines...and it ain't for lack of cooter.

I think they didn’t kill her and her child as they know she is a bigger victim alive, and can tell the story and spread the terror
Hey it was Al Qaida. Remember Al Qaida found ISIS to be too extreme for their tastes so they do have standards. /sarc
